Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The transparent mode for privileged sessions is one of the best things for customers, because they don't see the system in-between.""The whole product solves the privileged access management challenge for our company. We have a secure tunnel, a secure session manager, and automatic logging of sessions, which is good for forensic purposes. We have a rich level of logs and can trace what happened on which machine and see who did what.""The initial setup is very easy.""It is easy to manage. There is a very logical, clear user interface. Also, the integration of scripts is thoughtfully implemented. Overall, it's a nice product to manage.""The customer service and technical support are very good.""The transparent mode for privileged sessions is a very good solution.""It's one of the best products we've seen. When you start looking at the functionality and use cases and usability of the product, it's straightforward. They designed this product with the end-user in mind, and they also had the sysadmin who is supporting the product in mind. They really did a nice job. Overall, it's a nice product to work with.""We deployed it into our company for controlling a client's behavior in our data center. It is very useful to control their connections, such as RDP."

"The solution is very user friendly and easy to manage.""The solution is automatically scheduled so it runs by itself.""It is a stable solution.""We are very satisfied with the reports, as they provide us with the information that is required for our management.""The pricing is reasonable.""NeXpose is a pretty good vulnerability scanner... There's a nice dashboard.""The most valuable feature is the site scanning, where we can provide a complete subnet and what it is we need to scan on those devices.""When you connect any new device to the network, Rapid7 has the ability to detect the new device immediately. It can scan that device to detect if it has any vulnerability. It tells you what is vulnerable and what has been misconfigured. It also tells you what is the risk of that misconfiguration or lack of patches and how to resolve the problem."

Cons
"Cost-wise, it is a little bit expensive, which makes it difficult to get management approval. Its price should be reduced.""I just received a question from a customer in regards to a connection with Oracle OID. I tried to integrate Safeguard with the Oracle YAML as well as something else to manage the groups and users from a different system, like AD or LDAP. This one feature could be better. At this moment, the platform system can only use the integration with LDAP or AD. The software for research and development to create a connector to a YAML platform can be very complicated.""The SPS could be a lot easier to administrate and the parts should be unified, from a design perspective, so that I can recognize the systems as being part of the same package. They feel like they have been forced together.""I would like to see an adjustment with more enterprise architecture. You can buy multiple appliances but you can not fully separate different functions, so scaling might be a bit more complicated.""The deployment affects our privileged users because it takes a long time for them to request privileges, which impacts the SLA.""The GUI has room for improvement because it is confusing and cumbersome.""On a scale of one to ten, the stability is an eight.""We can't review or audit HTTP and HTTPS. This functionality should be added so that we can review and audit HTTP and HTTPS."

More One Identity Safeguard Cons →

"The integration with other solutions like JIRA could be better. Perhaps there could be some additional updates in the next phase that could integrate with it, so then you can proceed with the VT much easier.""I would say that it improved our visibility, but it left things open.""It is still not a fully cloud-based solution. It will be helpful for customers if it is a complete cloud solution. It is a hybrid solution at the moment.""There are end-user needs and expectations that are being overlooked in the development that could be addressed by appointing a customer advisory board.""The team needs to improve the speed and focus on the new bandwidth feed. Sometimes, it takes a while to scan, especially with new updates.""There are certain limitations because of the product being used on a hybrid model. Rapid7 InsightVM doesn't offer a solution purely in the cloud.""There is room for improvement on its cloud side. In the next release I would like to see better reporting.""The drawback is that it is still not a fully SaaS solution, so you must deploy a console."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Setup cost, pricing and licensing are all very expensive."
  • "Our licensing costs are on a yearly basis."
  • "It was definitely cheaper than the other two products that we evaluated."
  • "They offer a fair price for a robust solution."
  • "The full license is expensive but if you plan to use it in a big organization then it is the best option because it is more flexible."
  • "It is a bit on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for. You don't want to get anything too cheap because then you get cheap stuff and cheap support. That really never helps anybody."
  • "The pricing is about $80,000 per 100 servers. There are few elective costs."
  • "We have a yearly license. The cost depends on how much a company wants to invest in technology. In our organization, we believe in modern digitization and automation processes so we found it affordable. One Identity was not that much less than other solutions and it is not a cheap solution. There were number of cheaper solutions. However, it's the most effective, according to our evaluation."

  • "The price of the solution is less than the competitors."
  • "I do not have experience with the pricing of the solution."
  • "This solution is expensive, but it's fine for us as we have an open budget for security solutions. Protection and having the system secured is more important."
  • "The license is IP based. How many IPs you are using to scan is the amount of the license you have to buy. The number of users doesn't matter; many users can use it or only person. It depends on the culture of the organization."
  • "Our licensing costs are somewhere around $40,000 annually. There are no additional fees."
  • "The licensing is asset-based and very straightforward."
  • "Its price is too high. My only concern or issue with Rapid7 is its pricing."
  • "Comparing the price with the value that we receive, I am not happy with it."

    Overview

One Identity Safeguard is an integrated system that combines a secure, toughened password safe and a session management and monitoring solution with threat detection and analytics into one integrated solution. It stores, manages, records, and analyzes privileged access in a secure manner.

    One Identity Safeguard Features

One Identity Safeguard has many valuable key features. Some of the most useful ones include:

    • Policy-based release control: Seek access and approve privileged passwords and sessions using a secure online browser that supports mobile devices. Depending on your organization's policies, requests can be authorized immediately or require dual/multiple approvals. You can set One Identity Safeguard to match your personalized needs, whether your policies consider the requestor's identity and level of access, the time and day of the request attempt, and/or the specific resource requested. You can also enter reason codes and/or connect to ticketing systems.

    • Vault for personal passwords: In a free personal password vault, every one of your employees can keep and generate random passwords for non-federated business accounts. This allows your company to use a sanctioned tool to securely share and retrieve passwords, giving you much-needed security and visibility into your company's accounts.

    • Auditing, recording, and replaying entire sessions: All session activity is collected, indexed, and kept in tamper-proof audit trails that can be viewed like a video and searched like a database, down to the keystrokes, mouse movements, and windows viewed. Security teams can search across sessions for certain events and play the recording from the exact point where the search criterion happened. For forensics and compliance purposes, audit trails are encrypted, time-stamped, and cryptographically signed.

    • Approval in any location: Approve or refuse requests from anywhere, using One Identity Starling Two-Factor Authentication, without having to connect to a VPN.
    • Instantly on: Safeguard for Privileged Sessions can be implemented in a transparent manner, with no changes to user workflows required. Safeguard, when acting as a proxy gateway, can act as a network router, unseen to both the user and the server. Admins can continue to use their normal client programs and access target servers and systems without disrupting their everyday routine.

    • Biometrics of user behavior: Even when performing identical operations like typing or moving a mouse, each person has his or her own unique pattern of behavior. These behavioral characteristics are examined by the Safeguard algorithms. Keystroke dynamics and mouse movement analysis aid in the detection of security breaches while also acting as a continuous biometric authentication system.

    • Favorites: Right from the login screen, quickly access the passwords you use the most. You can combine many password requests into a single favorite, allowing you to log into all of your accounts with a single click.

    • Discovery options: With host, directory, and network-discovery options, you can quickly find privileged accounts or systems on your network.

    Reviews from Real Users

One Identity Safeguard stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its stability and its connection control. PeerSpot users take note of the advantages of these features in their reviews:

One PeerSpot reviewer, a Software Solutions Architect at a computer software company, writes, “I have found the most useful feature of One Identity Safeguard to be Privileged Sessions. One Identity Safeguard is a stable solution.” He adds, “I rate One Identity Safeguard a nine out of ten.”

Walid S., Networking and Security Engineer at a tech services company, mentions of the solution, “We deployed it into our company for controlling a client's behavior in our data center. It is very useful to control their connections, such as RDP.”

The solution provides easy access to vulnerability management, application security, detection and response, external threat intelligence, orchestration and automation, and more. Rapid7 InsightVM is ideal for security, IT, and DevOps teams, helping them reduce risk by enabling them to detect and respond to attacks quickly.

    Rapid7 InsightVM Features

Rapid7 InsightVM has many valuable key features. Some of the most useful ones include:

    • Automated containment: With this feature, you can decrease exposure from vulnerabilities by automatically implementing temporary (or permanent) compensating controls via your network access control (NAC) systems, firewalls, and endpoint detection and response tools.
    • Policy assessment: Rapid7 InsightVM offers pre-built scan templates for common compliance requirements. The solution helps you take clear, actionable steps to compliance once you have assessed your risk posture. In addition, Rapid7 InsightVM’s Custom Policy Builder allows you to modify existing benchmarks or create new policies from scratch.
    • REST API: Rapid7 InsightVM REST API is easy to use and was built to easily automate virtually any aspect of vulnerability management, from data collection to risk analysis.
    • Live dashboards: Rapid7 InsightVM includes dashboards that are live and interactive by nature. The live dashboards enable you to create custom cards and full dashboards for anyone in your organization and allow you to track progress of your security program.
    • Automation-assisted patching: Rapid7 InsightVM’s automation-assisted patching gives you the autonomy to make key decisions in your patching process, such as your approval to apply certain patches to certain vulnerabilities.
    • Real risk prioritization: Rapid7 InsightVM makes it simple to know which vulnerabilities need to be prioritized and where your riskiest assets lie.
    • Goals and SLA’s: This feature enables you to make and track progress toward your goals and service level agreements (SLAs) at an appropriate pace.

    Rapid7 InsightVM Benefits

There are many benefits to implementing Rapid7 InsightVM. Some of the biggest advantages the solution offers include:

    • Attack surface monitoring for maintained visibility: By leveraging attack surface monitoring with Project Sonar (a Rapid7 research project that regularly scans the internet to gain insights into global exposure to common vulnerabilities), you can gain more control of all of your external-facing assets, both known and unknown.
    • Container security: Rapid7 InsightVM integrates with your CI/CD tools, public container repositories, and private repositories to assess container images for vulnerabilities during the build process even before they are deployed.
    • Lightweight endpoint agent: Rapid7 InsightVM unifies data so you only need to install a single agent for continuous vulnerability assessment, incident detection, and log data collection.
    • Easily assign and track remediation duties: Using Rapid7 InsightVM, IT and security teams can assign as well as track remediation duties without having to deal with remediation reports, complex spreadsheets, or back-and-forth email tags.
    • Integration with cloud services and virtual infrastructure: Rapid7 InsightVM provides full visibility into risk across your physical, virtual, and cloud infrastructure.
    • Integrated threat feeds: Rapid7 InsightVM is designed with integrated threat feeds, giving you a dynamic view that shows you which threats are most relevant to your environment, enabling you to better protect against current, impending threats so you can react quickly to critical vulnerabilities.
