Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It is a fast and available solution.""The most valuable feature is customization.""The BIG-IP’s interface is more intuitive than other GUIs. It is well structured, not overloaded, and does not have too many gimmicks.""There is a lot of documentation available.""We're able to do load balancing and global load balancing. When you marry those two products together, you can do a lot more. We're able to deliver our applications more securely and faster. It has improved our deliverability where we have more service across the shared data centers. We can intelligently reach all of those client connections across all of the servers and do it fairly quickly. It has helped improve our application delivery and performance.""We always use technical support and the team helps us very well. They're able to effectively find and fix issues and they respond very quickly.""The most valuable feature of F5 BIG-IP LTM is brand image and recognition and the application delivery controller.""What we like best about this solution is its stability. It is extremely stable."

"It significantly eases the workload and streamlines the initial setup required to protect a website.""The most valuable part is the analytics and visualization.""The initial setup was straightforward. Straight forward because the plugin can simply be installed and then it does its job. It's not complex, there is no learning curve. The online scan is simple, you put in the website address and the scan gives us a report on the browser itself. It's simple to use.""I use it as a WAF, which is basically a web firewall to monitor and block traffic to our web server.""Domain name scanning since it allows us to scan all our domain names and determine whether it has malware or if is reported as phishing.""The initial setup was very easy."

Cons
"Lacking in free training to help users understand the product more, so they would know how to correctly use it. Like other vendors and their products, becoming more proactive is an area for improvement.""The management interface is unclear, complex, and not concise. I would like a better user interface.""Needs to provide a visual interface to follow a customer's activity (from client to BIG-IP to SNAT IP to the chosen server, then back). Today, we are still performing packet captures.""Technical support could be improved.""For a future release, I would like to see more features in the cloud.""The synchronization does works fairly well. However, if I were to make changes, I would make it easier to start the sync process.""We need best-practice information. They have something called DevCentral and a blog. But we want something from F5 itself regarding how to tackle the false-positive configurations. If you go into detail with so many configurations it will find so many false positives from the moment it is enabled that it will quickly impact your applications, and it will not work.""The user experience for dashboards and reports can be improved. They should make dashboards and the reporting system easier for users. They need to add more reports to the dashboard. Currently, for complicated reports, I have to do the customization. It should have more integration with network firewalls to be able to gather all the information required for traffic management."

"I would rate this solution an eight out of ten. The reason is that we have found sometimes customers or Google saying that there is something wrong with the website but Sucuri says that the site is clean so we do have to look at the site manually which means that the Sucuri scan does not pick up anything and everything.""Confident score: Currently it does not have one and there are cases that most websites flagged are false-positives.""The main improvement I would like to see is support for .NET applications. If they could include this feature, I would include more sites in the protection.""It would greatly benefit customers if they implemented an online chat or messaging system for quicker assistance.""In terms of improvement, the cost factor is always there.""Sucuri could provide help for specific security alerts in-line instead of requiring users to search for it in the help section."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Though functionality is high, its cost can be considered slightly higher than its competitors."
  • "The licensing pricing seems relatively easy enough to get your head around. I would advise anyone to ensure that you have a conversation with an F5 consultant before purchasing, as you would with most products."
  • "Take a look at the modules that you are going to use. Look into the best bundles for them."
  • "The only area that has room for improvement would be pricing, so its competitors do not have a say."
  • "If your IT budget is good, go for it."
  • "This product is costly from a licensing perspective considering its competitors."
  • "Check other vendors like Cisco, Citrix or A10 Networks. There are plenty in the market with which you can achieve same thing."
  • "Great product for the money. But they can get really expensive, so get what meets your needs."

  • "I’d simply say it’s really worth it."
  • "Sucuri offers different plans, both the standard plan and an advanced plan. So there are different plans to choose from."
  • "The ROI has been very good. Because of the solution, I have a tax break. The site developers were not always experienced people. We used to pay more for cleaning up the site when it was infected. Now, we have peace of mind knowing that the solution will clean up the site and that we won't have to go through the unnecessary process of restoring it from a backup. The protection on the WAF and the measures for backups have also prevented our site from going down."
  • "It stands out as a more cost-effective option compared to other cloud-based security services like Cloudflare or JetPass."

Top Answer:The support from F5 BIG-IP LTM is good.
Top Answer:There are a few licensing options available for F5 BIG-IP LTM. You can have a perpetual license which is a lifetime license. You then only need to renew the support, if you choose to open a ticket… more »
Top Answer:The pricing must be more flexible. We get billed for firewalls based on the usage. It will be helpful if the solution provides such flexibility.
Top Answer:The initial setup was very easy.
Top Answer:The pricing is very reasonable. Sucuri offer other features as an add-on, such as backup, but these have an additional cost. We host the sites ourselves, so I don't take it because it was redundant.
Top Answer:The main improvement I would like to see is support for .NET applications. If they could include this feature, I would include more sites in the protection. In future releases, perhaps Sucuri could… more »
