We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The solution allows me to give access and privileges to each user individually""The solution's technical support is good.""You can use it to strip users of their local admin rights and, at the same time, elevate applications for them.""Users can scale the solution.""I have always found that CyberArk is a very tight, foolproof product compared to most other products available.""The most valuable feature is that it does lifecycle management and that it will change to whatever the end target is.""What sets CyberArk apart is its continuous innovation, staying ahead of the competition.""CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager is very easy to manage, which I like. The solution also has a dashboard where you can see which software is suspicious, which I find valuable."

"Streamlines user access, consolidates applications.""It's a very useful tool that has improved our client's security, from day one.""Automated provisioning removes manual labor and manual provisioning.""The solution is easy to scale.""I like that it is easy to diagnose. It has a version of a virtual appliance so we can download it, run it, configure it, and it would take about 10 to 15 minutes to configure the cluster or so.""There are many valuable features within the solution. The product is easy to customize. It’s also highly secure.""Provisioning engine (on the back-end, separate from front-end components, that's part of layered architecture).""The scalability potential is there if a company needs to expand."

Cons
"The solution's pricing could be better.""CyberArk is a pretty heavy solution.""We have had some major issues with the tool, but we have worked with the R&D teams and we have worked with support. There is room for improvement, especially on response times. But they're working on it and they're doing the best they can.""The installation process is pretty difficult.""Technical support is slow to respond when we run into issues.""It cannot be on-prem. It is only cloud-based. Sometimes, that's a restriction in terms of usage.""The product needs a streamlined user interface; improvements to the user interface can enhance user experience and make the solution more intuitive to navigate.""CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager is a perfect solution, but CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager for Linux has many issues. Another area for improvement in CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager, specifically for Windows, is that there's no way for you to check credential theft from a text file, such as a notepad file."

More CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager Cons →

"Symantec is only on-premises, not on the cloud.""There are several areas for improvement in Symantec Identity Governance and Administration. They have no proper documentation on how to do backups. They also have a lengthy workflow process where we have to make some configurations to manage automation in the rules and in our tasks which takes time. We have to manually configure all the configuration files, and we cannot export users because there's no export system in Symantec Identity Governance and Administration. What we'd like to see in the next release of the solution is for them to make configuration and integration with other systems their top priorities. We have many API systems to manage, so hopefully, if they make these enhancements shortly, we can directly connect with our API systems when using Symantec Identity Governance and Administration.""The Identity tool needs to do more kinds of reporting for audit purposes. It doesn't really track any of the metrics that are useful to us, at this point.""They should easier and better integration with other software.""A better information display for the approvals within the workflow would give them more information and the ability to comment back on a request as to why they're rejecting it. We've been telling them we'd like this improvement, and we hope to see it.""I find the API boring. I also faced issues while integrating with CA SSO.""The product has a lot of need for improvement. Our issues are being raised back to the vendor as enhancements.""Identity Manager has a lack of entitlement support, unlike other products that I have worked with."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "licensing for this solution is based on the number of APV (privileged users), and the number of sessions that you want to record."
  • "I think that it was in the range of $200,000 that had to get approved."
  • "Pricing depends on how many devices you use. Right now, on-premise, it costs us a little, but it's worth it. It seems like the cloud solution is much more expensive. We got this solution one year ago, and it's like we bought the solution, and now they are not going to support it on-premise anymore. We are in the implementation phase, and we missed this, and we already paid for the licenses. This is wasted time from my perspective, and CyberArk should be more customer-friendly."
  • "The cost for CyberArk is very high."
  • "The price of CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager is expensive."
  • "The price of CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager is expensive. The solution is priced based on the number of accounts onboarded and the number of concurrent sessions. Everyone else is included in the price, such as support."
  • "We pay about $17 per user."
  • "CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager has a very high price, so it's a one out of ten for me in terms of pricing."

  • "Compared to other options, CA products are not that expensive."
  • "The price is based on the number of users."
  • "Pricing and licensing models are adequate and reasonable."
  • "The connector is free, and bundled with the product."
  • "I do not recall the approximate prices or licensing models, although I do so that it was priced per user number."
  • "The product has a good price in competition with another product with the same solution."
  • "Symantec keeps increasing the price. I rate its pricing a seven on a scale of ten."
