Pros
"EFS is flexible.""The most beneficial feature of the product for data storage stems from the fact that it serves as a shared file storage.""The initial setup was straightforward.""The solution is scalable.""We can run code and deploy it whenever we want.""We are not that big of a cloud user. We just use it for the storage of our bytes. The most valuable aspect is the storage.""Its elasticity and flexible pricing are the most valuable. For Amazon EFS, you are charged based on the storage. It is also very fast and stable with a very simple and intuitive interface.""I appreciate Amazon's extensive range of services, which makes it a favorable choice."

Cons
"The user activity needs to be more connected.""Around 80 percent of the features of Amazon EFS (Elastic File System) are available on Linux and not in Windows, making it a major drawback of the product.""It should be simplified. There are people who don't have cloud experience. It should be storage that we are able to just connect to.""When we faced some issues, the support team took a lot of time to resolve them.""The interface seems strange and complicated.""Specifically, when it comes to the file system for the learning system, we encountered performance issues with both Azure and AWS.""The lack of transparency in the costs attached to the product is an area of concern where improvements are required.""Its deployment process could be faster while installing the Python package directly into the environment."

More Amazon EFS (Elastic File System) Cons →

"The solution's cost optimization could be improved.""There is room for improvement in handling GDPR compliance better. GDPR is about personal data protection and retention. It would be great if S3 Glacier could handle compliance items related to this, especially with upcoming legislation like the California law, which restricts data storage time and allows users to request data deletion.""I believe the usage reporting could be simplified, particularly for billing purposes. Overall, I find Amazon S3 Glacier's reporting system somewhat confusing compared to other hyperscalers in the market.""Amazon S3 Glacier is a cheaper tool if you're running it on-prem, but it is expensive if deployed on the cloud.""I am unsure if the product provides good integration capabilities. From an improvement perspective, I want the tool to provide easier integration features.""Technical support needs improvement. Previously, even though we had premium and enterprise support, the response time would be quicker if we ran into issues, but now it is slowed down. The analytical dashboard feature, like the CloudOps dashboard, should be included in the next release of the Amazon S3 Glacier.""I would like to see the retrieval time reduced.""The solution’s deployment process is complex and could be improved."

More Amazon S3 Glacier Cons →

"They should provide more options or flexibility in terms of pricing.""The suggestion for improvement primarily revolves around cost efficiency.""The interface for managing file storage in the buckets could be improved.""The pricing is quite high.""Nearline security could be better. The solution could integrate better with SEIM tools.""The UI could be a little bit more effective.""They need a better, more visual, user interface for folders and files.""The solution needs to offer better System Information and Event Management (SEIM). I'd like to discover how we could implement something like that within Google's cloud."

    Overview

Amazon Elastic File System (Amazon EFS) provides simple, scalable file storage for use with Amazon EC2 instances in the AWS Cloud. Amazon EFS is easy to use and offers a simple interface that allows you to create and configure file systems quickly and easily. With Amazon EFS, storage capacity is elastic, growing and shrinking automatically as you add and remove files, so your applications have the storage they need, when they need it.

When mounted to Amazon EC2 instances, an Amazon EFS file system provides a standard file system interface and file system access semantics, allowing you to seamlessly integrate Amazon EFS with your existing applications and tools. Multiple Amazon EC2 instances can access an Amazon EFS file system at the same time, allowing Amazon EFS to provide a common data source for workloads and applications running on more than one Amazon EC2 instance.

It’s designed for high availability and durability, and provides performance for a broad spectrum of workloads and applications, including Big Data and analytics, media processing workflows, content management, web serving, and home directories.

Amazon Glacier is a secure, durable, and extremely low-cost cloud storage service for data archiving and long-term backup. Customers can reliably store large or small amounts of data for as little as $0.007 per gigabyte per month, a significant savings compared to on-premises solutions. To keep costs low, Amazon Glacier is optimized for infrequently accessed data where a retrieval time of several hours is suitable.

A low-cost, highly-durable and highly available storage service for infrequently accessed data, data archiving, online backup and disaster recovery. Data is available instantly, not within hours or days. With sub-second average response times and 1 cent per GB/month pricing, Cloud Storage Nearline gives you terrific performance at a low cost.
