We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It's easy to create fully-functional Dashboards.""The main features of this solution are that it is easy to use, intuitive, and user-friendly. When I retrieve the data from the database it is in a very raw form, then when I use the Oracle Report Builder it has advanced intelligence features to allow me to view and make changes to the data easily.""The most valuable features of Oracle OBIEE are ease of use, the graphical user interface is simple to understand, and the reports can be done without problems. There are many tutorials and training materials available if needed.""It can be used with any type of data models, such as relational lines and dimensional lines.""I like the architecture of this solution. RPV is a powerful feature in Oracle OBIEE. It lets us design as per the needs of the organization. I can have multiple presentation folders and presentation layers. I can have customization in a single node in VMware, which is a very good feature of Oracle OBIEE. It helps customers in designing as per their requirements.""Provides good data visualization features, and provides a lot of visualization reports from various data sources.""We do you use Oracle support. We've been paying for an Oracle support subscription for four or five years, and not one ticket has ever been logged. When I came in, I've encouraged the team to ask Oracle questions. They do get back quite quickly. Their support is good. Working with our account managers, if I need to escalate anything, I can speak to them and they escalate the call. I've got that ecosystem working quite well. That does work for us.""The security is good. For example, we can implement column-level security."

"It seems quite performant in analyzing multi-dimensional information sets and presenting them.""I think the most valuable Pyramid Analytics feature is the solution's ability to drill down and dice in the loop. I think it is better than InExcel or Power BI.""The features I find most valuable are 'Discover,' 'Formulate,' and 'Model.' I use them regularly to build logic and create reports for my job.""The most valuable feature of Pyramid Analytics, outshining even top-tier platforms like Power BI, is its robust support for DAX queries.""The on-premise version has quite good scalability.""It offers a wide range of analytics options including statistics and visualizations, as well as prediction capabilities, allowing users to make forecasts based on the latest data.""It proved to be a very powerful and useful tool due to its breakdown capabilities, easy reporting features, flexibility in building custom calculations, and the ability to integrate them into reports.""Pyramid has a wide level of uses, as it's a complete ETL process and has a good level of connecting to a lot of data sources."

"The integration with Salesforce has helped us gain access to crucial sales data in real-time.""On the positive side, QlikView's scripting is a great asset as it functions as an ETL.""The initial setup is not very complex.""It is useful to use a tool like this to have a view of data at a point in time. You can extract and create little data sets that you can store, and then over time, you can have a view for tracking changes. Especially when you work with a relational database or a database that's a production database, the data is dynamic, but if you use QlikView, you can take a snapshot of different datasets. In your own time, you can then get insights and report, build, analyze, and draw whatever you need from the data, which is quite useful.""If you correctly use the product for your use cases, it provides value for money.""It's incredibly fast and can handle large volumes of data without slowing down our operations.""I had the option to prepare data myself instead of always having to depend on the data team.""It is a stable product."

Cons
"Oracle OBIEE could improve by having better integration and compatibility with other vendors.""It's not so flexible to do BI reporting directly from the data source without models. It is not that agile.""It could be more user-friendly. For example, the RPD layer could be more straightforward. From a user's point of view, the visualization, especially the graphs, are not as attractive when compared to other tools like QlikView and Qlik Sense.""The solution needs to be easier to scale.""One significant improvement is the need for simplification. The set up could be more intuitive. An enterprise setup with HA and DR are pretty complex and to get a robust solution one has to play around with Real Application Cluster data sources and FAN notifications as well as WebLogic clustering and external load balancers. SSO also is not that simple to set up especially if you want all your Oracle systems to use the same SSO solution, i.e., no cheating with direct LDAP connectivity.""The documentation in Oracle OBIEE can be more user-friendly.""Essbase integration needs to be worked on.""This solution is weak in the data science perspective. I have past data science experience. And, I find that there is a lot of room for improvement in terms of incorporating more advanced statistical modeling into the product."

More Oracle OBIEE Cons →

"It would be desirable to have the possibility to generate a data dictionary, detailing the original physical tables, renamed fields, and derived fields.""There is room for improvement in terms of the user interface, particularly when it comes to modifying connections between filters and visual components in a dashboard.""There is room for improvement in terms of documentation and examples, especially for newcomers like me who are learning both business intelligence and Pyramid.""I think the graphic number of charts and components could be higher, at least comparable to Brain Power BI.""Even though the solution has a functionality for every step, it's not so well- defined. That needs to be improved.""The general amount of negative comments that I am hearing from my team makes me very wary.""I find that this is quite a heavy, time-consuming tool for developers.""Pyramid Analytics could improve by speeding up data refresh, especially for large datasets."

More Pyramid Analytics Cons →

"The user interface is old.""The solution is quite costly.""There's room for improvement in the area of management's handling of concerns.""Though the initial setup phase is simple, when it comes to the integration with the custom systems, the configuration and the compatibility sometimes take some more time.""Although Qliktech's road map clearly states that QlikView has a long way to go, most of the R&D effort seems to be benefiting Qlik Sense.""It would be nice if QlikView could be plugged in into the company's website or an online portal such as QlikSense is capable of. There are ways around but it takes enormous time to develop.""The user interface and ease of use takes a bit of a learning curve to pick up.""There is no automation or drag and drop functionality."

    Reviews from Real Users

Sandeep V., Process System Engineer at a comms service provider, tells us, “This solution is very easy for people who are building ad-hoc things. It's an enterprise solution so it can be deployed for a lot of users. There are some great new features that come with the 12c like data visualization, desktop BI Publisher, automation, and interactive dashboards. The product has good features. “

A user who is a CEO at a consultancy relates, “The most valuable feature is the visualization. The data warehousing, data storage, and data wrangling are all features that are in there, and it's one of the better products out there. A good thing is that for large datasets, it's very stable, especially when you have an Oracle database.”

A user who is a Principal Business Intelligence Architect at a computer software company suggests, "It is very biased towards Oracle infrastructure. One of the major red flags we have at the moment against Oracle is that it doesn't support deployment on other cloud providers. We're quite heavily vested in AWS as our infrastructure, and Oracle is yet to formally support deploying on those virtual infrastructure instances. That's quite disappointing, and it also cuts them out of over 70% of the market."

The BI Office from Pyramid Analytics is a web-based governed data discovery and analytics platform.
