Cisco ACI Stability
For stability, Cisco ACI rates a nine or 9.5 because I've seen three customers using Cisco ACI and once deployed, the solution is very stable.
View full review »Cisco ACI is a highly stable solution. Cisco has come up with a product that is as stable as 6500. We have seen a lot of stability issues in Cisco Nexus switches. When Cisco introduced Cisco Nexus in the plants, it wasn't as stable a platform as 6500 would have been. We had 6500 switches running for 19 years without any downtime. Cisco ACI follows the stability of 6500 and provides a stable environment.
Since we implemented Cisco ACI, any outages in my environment were caused by the bugs in Orchestrator. When you deploy a new policy, the bugs in Orchestrator create outages. Over the last four and a half years, Cisco has resolved the bugs within Orchestrator, and the product has stabilized. MUFG is probably among the top five percent of Cisco customers running the latest NDO and Cisco ACI, and we do not have any stability issues.
I rate the solution’s stability ten out of ten.
Stability is one of the highlights, contributing to the robustness of the solution.

Occasionally, we encounter the need to reset certain programs due to bugs within one of the implemented data features. This requires performing upgrades approximately every six months to address and resolve these issues. I would rate its stability capability eight out of ten.

It exhibits remarkable stability, particularly from ACI version five onwards. For instance, the stock exchange infrastructure I've worked with has been operating flawlessly on ACI for almost two years now, with no significant issues. I would rate it ten out of ten.

ACI's stability is good - I would rate it 3.5 out of five.
View full review »Cisco ACI is highly stable. I've deployed it at six or seven data centers, and we've never had any issues with stability. It's a hundred percent reliable, but you have to consider some things. You can't deploy any version of your box and expect it to be stable because Cisco has some rules. For example, Cisco has a recommended version. It means that other versions may contain bugs.
Starting in 2000, if you open a switch, you will see a small motherboard, and the switch will work forever. There was no configuration. You just ran a few commands, and everything was done. Today, when you open a switch, you see a whole computer. For example, you can deploy the Cisco Catalyst 9000 with Python script. So there have been a lot of improvements and a lot of things.
Also, when they update ACI, you will face some bugs because this isn't a limited motherboard. Now, the motherboard is like a computer. You can expect some bugs, but you won't have that many issues compared to other solutions if you use the recommended version.

View full review »Early on, Cisco ACI was not stable. As it matures, it improves. Integration is the biggest challenge with this hybrid solution. From a security perspective, it wasn't stable.
The maintenance of Cisco ACI depends on the project. We use different delivery teams or supporting teams on a project-by-project basis. We handle the delivery and implementation and in the back end, there is a third team that maintains operations.

The stability has been good so far. We've got a big project to start doing upgrades on it. But it's been very stable and functioning properly. We haven't really had any issues with it as long as I've been here at the company. I'm sure there were some issues during deployment cause that was before my time. But it's been very stable for me.

It's a very stable product in terms of switching fabric. It's quite reliable. It doesn't fail that much compared to other switching platforms. There are some things you need to be cautious of, like when you are configuring contracts. When you are configuring L4 and L7, you need to be aware of what type of configuration you're doing. Sometimes when you are configuring something which is third-party, not Cisco, you need to be aware of what the end result will be. So you need to do it in a test environment first, and then do it in production.

It is stable.
View full review »From my experience, it seems like a really stable product. The only thing that concerns me a bit is the fact that you have a lot of errors. It gives you a lot of error messages and they mostly don't really influence the functionality, so it still works. It just notifies that there is some misconfiguration and I think it will scare people with these kinds of messages that don't really have an influence on the functions. Operating the ACI fabric is a concern I have.
