Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Scalable but interface can be improved
Basically, we use it for service management from the financial side of things I would say the simplicity of it. It's not very difficult and doesn't require strong technical skills to understand or implement. The interface can be improved. It can be made more interactive for self-service users.…

Macros and automation have streamlined workflows and reduced manual effort across support teams
The ability to communicate on the Zendesk ticket through the actual user software, so TOPs, would have been helpful. Somehow seeing a user's ticket history within our app would have been beneficial. That is the only thing that I do not think existed at the time that might have been helpful. Some people struggled with Zendesk, but it was always easy enough to show them how to use it and what they were missing. The only times we really had people report concerns about it was when they did not understand that it could do that or how to use it in that way.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The ease of access and deployment are the most valuable features."
"We simply train the Bot by uploading sample files, and it then begins classifying, processing, and extracting the data within a short span of time."
"Automation Anywhere performs efficiently."
"Automation Anywhere has positively impacted my organization by providing a lot of hours and dollars saved for many business teams across the company, and it helps spark ideas for people to look at their own business processes and learn how to automate them from end to end."
"The valuable features that I see for automation with enterprise RPA are IQ Bot and Bot Insights."
"It is one of the popular RPA vendors offering powerful & user-friendly RPA capabilities to automate any complex tasks. It is one of the "Revolutionary Technology" that changes the way the enterprise operates. This tool combines conventional RPA with intellectual elements like natural language understanding and reading any unstructured data."
"The biggest benefit of Automation Anywhere is that it makes our processes error-free. Accuracy is how you build efficiency within the system and increase productivity."
"Easy to access: Without the need to download and install software on a local machine, we can access the RPA application from virtually anywhere."
"Incident management and service request management features are the most valuable."
"It is highly configurable with PinkVERIFY status."
"The most valuable features of the Ivanti Service Desk are service requests and incident management."
"The tool supports a lot of standard reporting KPIs."
"The best feature is that SLAs are automatically tracked, so when we breach something, we can set up email escalations as well."
"Incident management is a valuable feature."
"Ivanti Service Desk gives all the functionality we need."
"Ivanti offers us the flexibility to transform it from purely an internal IT tool to something we can use across multiple departments. There's now a queue of departments waiting to onboard and get their processes built. The flexibility within the workflow is excellent."
"We tried to find a solution better and cheaper than Zendesk locally and we have not found any solution so complete and flexible as Zendesk."
"Our company is based on this model and wouldn't be as successful as we are today without this support structure in place."
"We receive less questions from customers, so this is a big win for our support."
"It's very convenient to use."
"I'd say that the integration options that Zendesk offers are the most valuable features to our team."
"This is one of the better solutions on the market for SMBs."
"It's a very stable tool, very powerful."
"The most valuable feature is the trackability of incoming requests. The system keeps a comprehensive history of work requests, making it a useful tool for our internal processes."

Cons

"Automation Anywhere is a tool. It is not able to go ahead and extract the hand-written documents. Most of the automation tools that we have in the market are not able to get an accuracy of close to 80 to 90 percent on hand-written documents. So, I'm eagerly looking at a release from Automation Anywhere, wherein they could plug in an LP or look at some sort of a platform which could convert hand-written documents into a readable format. If they could bring in they own platform, this would make a big in-roads for the entire automation industry."
"One aspect I don't appreciate about Automation Anywhere is the way variables are handled. Many things seem to become a string, which makes it hard to code and keep track of items when everything's a string."
"Automation Anywhere can improve by implementing a Citrix environment and increasing the stability of tools, such as IQ bot."
"We would like to see more capability for integration and more customization available with some features."
"I would like to see more complex use cases coming out for our industry."
"The initial setup is difficult because Automation Anywhere does not have a GitHub integration. They need to build a patch for that."
"There is a small thing from a development point of view. There should be a static site box for finding any command if I am writing a code. If there are hundreds of functions, you can only scroll up and down to find one each one. There should be a site box where we can find the commands and easily use them."
"While exporting a package, an option to de-select all the depending/referenced files should be available. Currently, it only allows for selecting all the files. Also, the views should be re-sizable as they are currently a fixed width. This would enable to view long file names easily eliminating any chances of exporting the wrong file."
"The interface can be improved. It can be made more interactive for self-service users."
"The mobile service is minimal and doesn't provide sufficient capabilities."
"You must be very technical to configure it."
"Ivanti Service Desk could improve the GUI because it is not as good as other solutions, such as BMC or ServiceNow. If Ivanti Service Desk works on the GUI and makes it more user-friendly, and its content more attractive it might help the solution in the long run."
"When we need to implement changes, it usually takes two to three days to happen, making it a very time-consuming process."
"I rated it a six out of 10 because it takes a lot to configure it."
"It's not professional support. When we have a problem, Ivanti should investigate."
"The administrative side of it could be a little more intuitive. This is the side that you use to do customizations. It is very customizable, but it could be a bit more intuitive and user-friendly. Their support can also be better in terms of response time. Currently, their response time is a little slow."
"Most of the time, if a particular candidate has too many documents, it really takes some time to load."
"I would like to see improvement in the "trigger" sections and "macros" as well."
"As Zendesk is an international business and has customers world-wide, it would be nice if it would provide 24/7 support."
"It was not easy to set up so we're only using a third of all of the features, and we wanted something that was easier to configure and set up."
"We needed to code stuff on our side due to business specific needs which Zendesk could not account for."
"The support team is time-consuming, and they don't find the answer to our problem."
"The solution could integrate better with QR codes from some websites such as Facebook."
"Ticket forwarding and the ability to add subscribers to tickets as some back and forth correspondence needs to be brought to attention of several team members, sometimes across different departments."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Our annual licensing costs are around $100,000 a year."
"We have a three-year contract with Automation Anywhere."
"We purchase on a bot basis. Our costs are approximately $5,000."
"Talk to your manager and try to procure an automation license for training. This will allow you to train people, so you can move to automation."
"We are a partner of Automation Anywhere and find the pricing to be reasonable."
"We have purchased licenses, but are trying to obtain more bot programmer licenses."
"It is expensive. I would rate Automation Anywhere an eight out of ten in terms of pricing."
"Additional costs will be for the machines and the number of machines that you are using. You can deploy virtually as well as on physical machines. In both the situations, you do need to allocate a certain budget for securing the machines and where the software will be installed and running. The machines cannot be used for anything else, because only a certain bot can run at a certain time. You need to be very particular about your scheduling of running the bots, and while the bot is running nobody can use the machine. You cannot have an agent working on a machine and the bot running in the background. It has to be completely dedicated. Then there are the network bandwidth requirements and space requirements, which are additional costs apart from the licensing and software costs. The developer is also going to charge you for their coding time too."

"There are different plans that are offered. We are using the entry-level plan. The overall price of the solution should be reduced. The price is too high."
"We pay for the solution on a yearly basis and my understanding is that the cost is about $30,000. That's the cost for 24 to 25 agents."
"Zendesk's licensing is not cheap. For Enterprise, we are paying $200 per agent. It's a per-month cost, so it's pretty steep. There are some services you need to pay extra for. For example, with Zendesk Guide, we had to buy the most expensive offering in order to get Multibrand and everything. We also had to pay a lot of money for themes."
"The price is very competitive."
"You have to pay extra for better support. So it's not only the license that you pay for, but you have to pay extra for the support as well."
"From what I hear, Zendesk's pricing is a little expensive."
