We performed a comparison between FlexPod XCS, IBM PurePower System, and IBM VersaStack based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out what your peers are saying about Dell Technologies, NetApp, Hewlett Packard Enterprise and others in Converged Infrastructure."We got the product and we have a small environment, but it was able to be scalable to when we started to grow."
"Software flexibility. Everything is fully configurable. The reliability results from the design. Elements are well projected (disks, blade, network, etc.). No single point of failure is identifiable."
"Validate designs are a good. They work in the background to combine all the infrastructure and storage. They create automation which can create volumes and attach VMs directly to massive CIFS."
"The hardware has been rock solid so far. It has gone up easy. It runs well. We have not had issues with it."
"It ships in a rack, so it is very easy to deploy."
"It's all converged into one consolidated platform, which works well together."
"The Cisco Validated Designs are the most valuable feature along with the Industry-leading technology, put together; and the fact that it just works."
"Centralized administration with Cisco UCS Director allows you to perform all administrative functions from a single interface, as well as automate tasks."
"We never have any issues or glitches."
"Replication and DR implementation became faster."
"The solution has high IOPS and the I/O is important because it gives us more transactions per second."
"The combination of Cisco's architecture and IBM's flash technology. Cisco provides FI technology which provides one simple architecture. IBM's flash technology is fast."
"It would be helpful if they sold a pre-boxed option so that you can buy a rack and everything's already there, everything's connected."
"We would like to have a single pane of glass available for it. It is something that the management in the business would like to have."
"Mainly, the interface needs improvement. I'm not a big fan of UCS Manager, sometimes. I believe they released the new one, and it seems like in every version something changes and something else doesn't work. When they switched to HTML5, I believe we had issues in version 3.2. They fixed it in the next version. The amount of work to upgrade a system for change control is tedious to have issues every time. I would recommend more regression testing, then testing the different browsers in that."
"A progress bar would...be pretty cool."
"I would be interested to see more integration with other applications."
"Automatic tiering would be good to have."
"Areas for improvement would be the support for the engineering team, who seem to have no clue when you open a case, the communication with and recognition of resellers, and the documentation, with could be more detailed."
"As the technology grows, we're looking to upgrade our storage systems to something faster, and we're hoping to improve our servers with next-generation technology. So we want to enhance our server infrastructure and explore server virtualization with VMware. That's the improvement that our clients are demanding."
"The management is really difficult when it comes to systems with traditional services."
"The solution should improve deduplication to get a lot of savings."
"Raw data mapping for storage should be a given option."
