Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Cisco Infrastructure is one of the top vendors and no one can beat them in terms of switching and routing.""It is more robust than other solutions. So, the stability is good.""The management is one of the most valuable features of this solution.""The solution is highly scalable, mainly because of the templates that make it easy for you to actually edit on the system.""Ease of management is certainly the most valuable feature in this product.""Technical support has been good so far. We haven't had any issues with them. We're satisfied with the level of service they provide our company.""We can configure the Cisco UCS Manager, the profiles and interactions with the resource we manage.""From a usability and functionality perspective, Cisco UCS Manager is very good."

More Cisco UCS Manager Pros →

"The most valuable feature is the DSS, also known as SPL, because it allows users to script advanced queries with limited knowledge.""Splunk's strongest suit is its user interface. We can integrate multiple solutions and adjust settings in the Splunk interface.""The fact that Splunk is a platform and not just a SIEM solution is a key benefit.""We can do things in minutes instead of days.""Visualizations helped the organisation with a better understanding of its KPIs.""The ability to quickly search logs, performance data, and other inputs has helped tremendously with troubleshooting.""Low barrier to start searching with the ability to normalize data on the fly.""The most valuable feature of Splunk Enterprise Security is website activity monitoring."

Cons
"Cisco UCS Manager is not a scalable solution because once you have 160 blades, it cannot be expanded more.""The integration with other solutions could be better. I think Cisco can only integrate using Intersight. There is a second interface available as a SaaS platform, in the cloud, or on-premise. It's based on the Redfish protocol, which is standard for all the B-series servers in the market. We can integrate other solutions using API.""What's lacking in Cisco UCS Manager is the performance dashboard. If a blade has any performance issues, you should be able to create a dashboard on Cisco UCS Manager. Currently, this feature isn't present.""There is room for improvement in the software part of Cisco UCS Manager. It should be more user-friendly, especially when creating policies.""Getting a CLI report on routers, switches, or any other CLI configuration device is difficult.""Upgrading the firmware is a difficult procedure.""The solution's pricing is high and could be reduced.""The interface and the way it is constructed is very complex. They should work to simplify it. It's quite difficult for somebody who doesn't know the product very well. Users should be able to get proficient with it faster. There's definitely room for improvement there."

More Cisco UCS Manager Cons →

"Its user interface for everything other than the charts can be improved. Some parts of it can be simplified a bit, such as when importing documents that have the network traffic. When you're going through the information about the network traffic, you have to have the expertise, but even if a program is supposed to be for IT support, it is good to make it user-friendly because it gets easier to train people. When something goes wrong, the more difficult a program is in terms of UI, the harder it is to fix the issue.""The solution could improve by making it more business analysis oriented. The way it is now is designed more for developers.""The ingestion happens quickly, so you can run up the data costs if you use the default settings. It isn't a problem for government agencies in the Saudi market, but many of the corporations in India are small or medium-sized enterprises that cannot afford that kind of ingestion system.""The configuration had a bit of a learning curve.""On the technical side, it would be nice to see aspects of the recent acquisition of Phantom make it into the core Splunk Enterprise, not just become a part of the premium Enterprise Security.""An improved user interface along with multi-tenancy support would be beneficial.""I have concerns about the architecture as well since I can see it is not very well defined.""When you get into large amounts of data, Splunk can get pretty slow. This is the same on-premise or AWS, it doesn't matter. The way that they handle large data sets could be improved."
