Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The tool seems to have a lot of ways to handle scaling.""I liked the way that I felt as a user and administrator of it. There were a lot of clicks, drops, drags, etc. versus writing code.""The ability to do write back and visualization, with minimal IT development orientation.""It is easy to make quick updates. As the business changes, we can maintain the tool without programming help from IT.""The dynamic selections on the screen and details by function are also valuable for inside the data view.""Where it used to take me three days at the beginning of the year to create the new financial statement, now it is a matter of minutes because all the data is in the system.""A lot of flexibility from the data modeling standpoint. It can add specific line items into our budget, for example, or if we want to make changes to the data model itself, we have that flexibility.""With the combination of 24/7 global support and their community, there was great customer service, tech support, and community support."

"Data handling is one of the best features of SAS Visual Analytics.""I believe that the possibilities for exploring data and formulating visual results are quite good because it allows the business analyst to have different perspectives on the data.""I use Visual Analytics for enterprise reporting.""It's relatively simple to create basic dashboards and reports.""Great for handling complex data models.""Simplifies report designs and quickly displays tables and graphs.""The product is stable, reliable, and scalable.""The speed to display charts and react to users' choices is great."

Cons
"It would be nice to be able to host your site and actually have BOARD be the driver of your site. So you could have anybody in your organization go to www.myorg.com, for example, and then go through what you allow them to go through. So rather than having to go through the application, to be able to go to actually host it to a website.""The engine of the Board should be made powerful like the engine of IBM planning which is more powerful in terms of performance. The consolidated finance area also needs improvement.""The product can be improved by making it possible to know where cubes are used.""The setup was a bit complex.""It would be nice to see truly transferable processes from model to model, as well as a method of building repetitive processes.""It's very powerful, but there is also a big learning curve. It should be a little more intuitive.""It can have more functionality for narrative reporting. They should also improve their training courses, which are currently very lightweight. When you get into more complex things, it is quite difficult to figure out what you're supposed to do, and you have to look at a lot of videos before you actually understand, which is a bit frustrating. Their training can be more comprehensive.""What could be better is the manual... nowadays, most people use a web client, but on the Board manual website, a lot of the information is only about the Windows client. If they could update that, it would be helpful."

"Colours used on report objects""The product is expensive and needs the integration of more languages.""A bit more flexibility in the temperatization will be helpful.""The visualization should be better in SAS Visual Analytics. It is easy to use but when compared to other solutions it is lacking and the support is not very good.""It is not as mature as competitors such as Tableau and QlikView.""The solution should improve its graphics.""Better connectivity with other data origins, better visualization, and the ability to create KPIs directly would all help.""The charts and tables could use better sorting, primarily using other variables than the ones on the figure. If they could implement views like in the older version (previous to Viya), it would be very nice."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by PeerSpot users currently using the SAS Visual Analytics solution.

A Senior Manager at a consultancy says, “The solution is very stable. The scalability is good. The usability is quite good. It's quite easy to learn and to progress with SAS from an end-user perspective.

PeerSpot user Robert H., Co-owner at Hecht und Heck GmbH, comments, “What I really love about the software is that I have never struggled in implementing it for complex business requirements. It is good for highly sophisticated and specialized statistics in the areas that some people tend to call artificial intelligence. It is used for everything that involves visual presentation and analysis of highly sophisticated statistics for forecasting and other purposes.

Andrea D., Chief Technical Officer at Value Partners, explains, “The best feature is that SAS is not a single BI tool. Rather, it is part of an ecosystem of tools, such as tools that help a user to develop artificial intelligence, algorithms, and so on. SAS is an ecosystem. It's an ecosystem of products. We've found the product to be stable and reliable. The scalability is good.”
