Broadcom was founded by a professor-student pair Henry Samueli and Henry T. Nicholas III from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1991. The company has more than 1200 employees, and is headquartered in Waltham, Massachusetts, USA. Rocket Software was founded in Boston in 1990 with a focus on IBM DB2 tools. Rocket's products are in the analytics, data, storage, applications and networks areas, and run on platforms including mainframe, Linuxvirtualized systems.
