We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It has an intuitive user interface and provides a lot of options for building reports.""The most valuable feature of IIS is the database it provides.""The most valuable feature of the solution is that it is easy to use and easy to understand.""The most valuable feature of IIS is that it's free, and it works.""It helps scan and mitigates our vulnerabilities using the best protocols to secure our environment.""It is a scalable solution.""The solution is easy to use and connects with Microsoft.""IIS is stable."

"When you use NGINX, you have more options and power.""NGINX Plus also has NGINX App Protect. It's a separate module, which is inspired by the F5 apps.""This solution has everything.""It performs very well. That's one of the primary reasons we use NGINX.""The web proxy and the database proxy are excellent.""Zero Downtime has always been a strength in recommending infrastructure web services. NGINX allows me to execute such infrastructure with less complications and the ability to switch from server to server easily.""The product is lightweight and fast.""I find the solution’s community support and documentation most valuable. Compared to HAProxy, have found a lot of documentation and community support on Quora. If you would be asking me as a developer whether to choose this product, I would recommend this since it has good community support, documentation, and signature updates. The configuration of HAProxy is also very tedious. However, NGINX’s configuration is very simple."

More NGINX Plus Pros →

"It is very usable and easy to understand. Antivirus and VPN are the main features being used now. It allows my clients to access the network from home, which was very crucial because of the pandemic.""The product's deployment phase was very easy.""The most valuable feature is AppFabric's hosting solution, which is what we need for running workflows."

Cons
"At the moment, we have big problems with stability, and I'm not very happy at the moment. So, the stability could be improved.""The user interface could be improved.""IIS's memory management could be improved.""The cost is a bit too high.""Sometimes if you are using IIS in large-scale scenarios, meaning that if you are deploying an application within IIS service and you are expecting a large number of users to use this application, you can sometimes find some problems, meaning that the service can shut down by itself unexpectedly if you don't configure your IIS with the correct configuration that can handle this number of users.""If Microsoft IIS could work well with AppOptics or things like PHP, Python, and other custom languages that run on the webserver, it would be ideal. I think there are cases where people need to use Apache instead of IIS when IIS doesn't work well with other web languages.""In the next release, the tool should be more easily integrated and configured with other provisions. The pricing should also be made cheaper since it's very expensive now.""Presently, some developers do not have technical knowledge of managing IIS, so that needs to be improved in the next release."

More IIS Cons →

"The KPI should be more focused on load balancing and the latency in application calling from the end system.""It would be good if NGINX provided a graphical user interface.""The scaling should be built into the software rather than configured from an outside source.""The user interface could be improved.""If NGINX brings some features for health check in the open source version, it would be better. ""The drawback is that you must obtain a license for everything.""There is room for improvement in the pricing model.""I would like the configuration process to be more simplified."

More NGINX Plus Cons →

"The product is unable to connect with different cloud services.""Microsoft will stop supporting the product next year, and we can't run unsupported programs in our systems.""Its price and licensing policy can be improved. It could be a little cheaper. Licensing is sometimes confusing. There are so many different options. It is difficult to find out what to buy or what to choose for my necessity."

    Overview
Internet Information Services (IIS) provides a secure, easy-to-manage, modular and extensible platform for reliably hosting websites, services and applications. With IIS, you get choice and control without giving up reliability or security.

NGINX Plus is a versatile solution that offers load balancing, caching, proxying, and API deployment capabilities. It can be deployed on private or public clouds and is ideal for building CDN solutions. The solution can also be used to secure web applications and replace web services like Apache.

NGINX has helped organizations improve functioning, reduce downtimes, and offer a DevOps-friendly solution. Its community support and documentation are highly regarded, and its configuration is more straightforward, making it a recommended choice over HAProxy.

Windows Server AppFabric extends Windows Server to provide enhanced hosting, management, and caching capabilities for Web applications and middle-tier services. The AppFabric hosting features add service management extensions to Internet Information Services (IIS), Windows Process Activation Service (WAS), and the .NET Framework 4. This includes Hosting Services and Hosting Administration tools that make it easier to deploy, configure, and manage Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) and Windows Workflow Foundation (WF) based services. The AppFabric caching features add a distributed, in-memory object cache to Windows Server that makes it easier to scale out high-performance .NET applications, especially ASP.NET applications.
