Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The main benefit is you can deploy everything with it.""It gives us good feedback on visualizations and on how our processes have progressed.""The IT process automation is the most valuable aspect of this solution.""Gives people insight into what's happening during the deployment.""I would say our headwind, or our time to market, is reduced considerably. We get more consistent results out of it, because you write one time and once it's automated you expect it to behave the same way every time. And it cut down a lot of re-work for us.""The metrics gathered after deployment, for example, the rate of success versus the rate of failure.""The event monitor is very good. You can monitor when the file is created so you can pick up the file once it's done.""You can design your workflows for your needs."

"The most valuable feature of AWS Amplify is authentication.""Typically, whenever we make changes and need to switch environments (e.g., dev to production), it's easy for our developers to maintain the state of each environment and make customizations as needed. They don't necessarily need to involve the cloud team for basic management.""The link with Figma is very nice. You can create your design in Figma, and then you can import it into AWS Amplify and use it. You can link it to your data source and data bindings."

Cons
"Not a perfect ten because the user interface is brand new and it needs improvement.""The dashboard should allow you to see the current state of packages in each environment, not only on an individual application basis, but across the entire application platform.""There is an issue with the stability in the tool. The process of agent will stop, then the monitoring agent can't be recognized because the process is running, but you can talk with the system.""One of the biggest features I've been asked by my team to put in there is opening more scripting languages to be part of the platform. There is a little bit of a learning curve in learning how to code some of the workflows in Automic at this time. If widely used languages like Perl and Python were integrated, on top of what's already there, the proprietary language, it would make it easier to on-board new resources.""I would like to see more support for WebSphere.""We hope that we can integrate the new CD Directive into our portfolio, so we can bring the deployment and release management closer together.""If you have a technical problem and need development of the tool, the support team is terrible, because they cannot help with the technical details.""GUI for mobile phones: Availability to approve and start deployment through mobile phones."

"AWS can implement multiple web applications, and cross-platform applications, like iOS.""Its capability to handle big projects needs to be improved. If you generate a user interface in Figma and import everything where all components are in one directory, currently, it is complicated. It isn't able to cope with that. For small projects, it is not an issue, but if you have big projects and you want to use AWS Amplify, then it gets more difficult. That is the most important point for me. It should be improved to cope better with bigger projects.""AWS Amplify could improve in the deployment. It would be beneficial to have more methods, such as automation."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "We increased our quality and reduced our time costs."
  • "I can save time and money more quickly."
  • "If you have a fixed contract, it has limits to spreading out. If you have a flexible enterprise license contract, then you have a lot of scalability for this tool."
  • "Customers often complain about the price."
  • More Automic Continuous Delivery Automation Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "When you're just starting, it is free. You have to pay only when you reach a certain amount of usage. I'm still at the early stage. So, I don't have to pay a lot. At the moment, it is not too expensive for me. It is worth the money."
  • "The pricing depends on what your use case is and whether you're an existing AWS customer. It's a pay-as-you-go model, so not expensive."
