Cloud-based platform supports seamless collaboration but needs branding flexibility
Pros and Cons
  • "People share their files and ideas and attend meetings in a collaborative manner."
  • "Yammer allows collaboration anywhere, anytime, on any device."
  • "Yammer should offer flexibility to allow branding without writing any code."
  • "I would rate the stability of Yammer as six out of ten."

What is our primary use case?

I have transitioned to using Yammer in the cloud for about six to seven years.

What is most valuable?

People share their files and ideas and attend meetings in a collaborative manner. They work on specific sales-related documents. Yammer allows collaboration anywhere, anytime, on any device. Its adaptability and compatibility are key strengths, along with device diagnostics.

What needs improvement?

Yammer should offer flexibility to allow branding without writing any code. It should also provide seamless integration with other products, utilizing Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Yammer for six to seven years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I would rate the stability of Yammer as six out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I would rate the scalability of Yammer as eight out of ten.

How are customer service and support?

While I appreciate Microsoft support for being responsive and helpful, the public documentation for using Yammer, especially for its API, is lacking and should be improved.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Before using Yammer, I worked with open-source tools. I do not remember the specific name of these tools.

How was the initial setup?

The setup of Yammer is easy, with the interface being user-friendly.

What about the implementation team?

The implementation was carried out by a team of twelve, consisting of four developers, one lead, and one architect, with the rest being non-technical staff like management and sales.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Yammer is effective and impressive in terms of pricing. It offers good value for money, and I would rate it an eight out of ten for licensing cost.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I am also using Salesforce as another vendor tool.

What other advice do I have?

I recommend Yammer due to its collaboration capabilities, ease of setup, and use. I rate Yammer a seven out of ten overall.

Part of the Microsoft suite, enhances internal communications and offers secure peer-to-peer engagement
Pros and Cons
  • "The tool allows us to post and keep track of company buzz and events without relying on email."
  • "It has a very limited use."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use it for internal communication and company communication.

What is most valuable?

It is part of the Microsoft suite, so I receive notifications in Teams. Although receiving notifications in Teams and email can be annoying, it is presumably configurable.

The tool allows us to post and keep track of company buzz and events without relying on email. It functions as an internal social media platform, enabling communication about company happenings securely. There's peer-to-peer engagement where you can praise colleagues and give recognition points. It integrates with other platforms for recognition, making it an effective tool for internal communication.

What needs improvement?

I can't think of anything that stands out as a problem. It has a very limited use. For the limited use it has, it performs well.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have used it for three or four years.

How are customer service and support?

We never contact Microsoft directly as we always rely on our internal support team for any issues related to Microsoft products.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

I did not have any personal experience setting it up. That said, since it is a Microsoft product, I imagine it was straightforward and plug-and-play.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Viva Engage an eight out of ten.
