Yammer is a good tool. My previous organization used it extensively. Pretty much everything had a Yammer channel. If someone outside the team had questions, they could just come up and ask questions using the product. Asking questions and posting things are the most important features.
If we run into an issue and a team owns the product, we can just use the solution to ask questions and get responses from that team. Otherwise, we will be stuck in a loop forever to figure it out. In a large company, we can get stuck if we don't know who to contact to determine what is happening and why.
The product was integrated into Microsoft Teams. We could collaborate easily. There are so many things we can do with Teams. So, the collaboration is at a different level when we use Microsoft products like Teams and Yammer, along with other tools that come with the suite. The solution worked well for me. I did not face anything that would make me stop using it.
Sometimes, we lose access to the solution for unknown reasons.
I rate the tool’s stability a six out of ten. We would lose access from time to time. However, it would come right back up.
The tool’s scalability is pretty good. The company that I worked for was a multinational company. It had 400,000 employees. I never had problems using the product. The auto-scaling that Microsoft does in the background works well.
The product has a really good support structure. Our company was allotted A dedicated support team since it was a huge organization.
We requested the IT department to set up a channel, and the IT team created it for us. If we had product issues, the IT department was responsible for figuring it out and working with Microsoft. The solution worked great for me. I would definitely recommend it. Overall, I rate the tool an eight out of ten.
With Yammer, it is easy to create communities, and it is also easy to use. Yammer also makes it easy to find and have an overview of every community that is opened and created on the platform. In my company, the solution's adoption rate is not so high yet because we started to use it last year.
Yammer's UX and UI are areas with certain shortcomings where improvements are required. Yammer's UX and UI should be made more user-friendly and organized.
For improvements in the area of stability, the solution requires improving its UI and UX while ensuring better integration with other tools, like Microsoft Teams. Sometimes, there seems to be some overlapping of features in the solution, especially in the area related to the creation of a repository, because of which one may not be able to identify when using Teams and Yammer, making it in the area which is unclear owing to a lack of best practices.
I have been using Yammer for a year. I use the solution's latest version. I am a user of the solution.
Stability-wise, I rate the solution a seven out of ten.
Though I am one of the major users of the solution in my company, it is accessible to everyone in the organization, but I don't know how many people use it.
Previously, in my company, we used to use Workplace from Meta or Facebook. Switching to Yammer from Workplace was not my decision.
The product's initial setup phase was straightforward.
There is a need to make yearly payments towards the licensing costs of the solution.
My recommendation to others to use the product or not depends on whether it is the only tool that they would use or if they have any other tools that they use in their environment. It is important to keep in mind why Yammer or any other tools are used to share documents or updates because otherwise, there is a risk if you split your work between different tools, as it can be difficult to collect everything and get a complete overview of a project. I think that you need to define the goal for what you need for the platform.
With Yammer, it is easy to get in touch with colleagues in other countries because it serves as an open-community tool on which you can see posts shared from everywhere. Yammer helps its users to get in touch and know other people from other countries. It is also easier to communicate with colleagues even if you don't have any projects in common or if you don't know some people in other countries.
I rate the overall tool an eight out of ten.
