Mode Enterprise is being used for dashboard purposes only, specifically for custom dashboards. For the e-commerce domain, we use Mode Enterprise to track customers, such as finding out a customer's first order, second order, or determining from which portal a customer accessed the link, including sources like Facebook. The database is Amazon Redshift, and Mode Enterprise is used for this purpose.
Mode Enterprise allows us to extract data from any database, including Amazon Redshift and MySQL servers. The main advantage is that it supports Python, which enables us to develop custom dashboards and custom visualizations using Python libraries.
Mode Enterprise has some inbuilt visualizations, but there should be more. Similar to how visualizations are built in Python, common visualization types should not require JavaScript or Python libraries. Having these types of visualizations built into Mode Enterprise would make work easier for developers.
This would definitely help reduce development time and save money. It will be beneficial in every aspect of the BI domain.
From my perspective, adding more custom visualizations as inbuilt features would be greatly beneficial for developers and other teams. For specific visualizations, we currently need to use Python and JavaScript combinations to create great visualizations such as cohort analysis. If these visualizations were added by default to Mode Enterprise, it would be beneficial for all of us.
There are common visualizations that are not currently in Mode Enterprise but should be added. There are advantages and disadvantages to the current state. The advantages mainly include the ability to combine all datasets, which definitely reduces time. Because Python and JavaScript are supported, we can develop cohort dashboards, which many other BI tools do not support. Mode Enterprise supports cohort dashboards, which is a significant advantage.
I have been using Mode Enterprise for analytics for the last four years.
Mode Enterprise is stable.
Previously, we were using Power BI, Tableau, QlikView, and Qlik Sense. All of our clients are from the US domain, and the data comes from the AWS platform. The customer requirement was to develop cohort and other visualizations that are not supported in other BI tools such as Tableau and Power BI. That is why we switched to Mode Enterprise for those visualizations. We have successfully developed cohort analysis and other advanced visualizations.
Regarding licensing, I cannot provide detailed information on that topic. However, I can say that Power BI is open-source. If Mode Enterprise were provided as open-source, more people could start using it.
I have used many other BI tools, but when I compare other BI tools with Mode Enterprise, I find it more interesting because it supports Amazon Redshift and cloud-related technology as well as some static-related technology. It also supports customization through coding with JavaScript and Python.
Many organizations are not using Mode Enterprise because they may not be aware of its features. If Mode Enterprise is advertised in a well-developed manner, organizations will definitely start using it more than other tools. My overall review rating for Mode Enterprise is seven out of ten.
