Daily work management has become smoother and supports integrated task and code workflows

What is our primary use case?

I am using Microsoft Azure DevOps Server for our developmental process. I simply use it for task creation and all, focused on daily activities. I have integrated Microsoft Azure DevOps Server with different source control systems such as Git and TFS, although the developers primarily handle these integrations, and I don't have much idea about it.

What is most valuable?

For the project management side, I am using Microsoft Azure DevOps Server. It does its job well, and I don't see any drawbacks. I am not using the integrated planning tools or the analytics part. The quality of the support itself is good, which is valuable for our operations. I appreciate the ability to combine it with different source control systems, providing a seamless workflow for developers.

What needs improvement?

Currently, I don't see any areas for improvement or anything that could be better about Microsoft Azure DevOps Server. Perhaps some small things could be changed or some features could be added, but currently, I am not able to recall all these things.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

For stability, I give eight points, and sometimes every product has issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

For scalability, I would give eight or nine because Microsoft products are vast, so I can scale easily.

How are customer service and support?

On a scale from zero to ten points, I would give Microsoft's technical support eight points. I give eight points and not ten because there is sometimes a delay, and I will not get a reply immediately. Sometimes because of connectivity to them, it will take time.

The quality of the support itself is good, and I don't see any issues in that aspect.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I actually don't know if I purchased the product from Microsoft directly or from a marketplace such as AWS Marketplace or Azure Marketplace; it is all done by higher management.

I had to ask this question because I am partners with AWS, so this is obligatory for me to ask.

What other advice do I have?

From the developers on my team, I don't hear any positive feedback about these available integrations or concerns. Everything is all right.

I would give eight to nine points in general to Microsoft Azure DevOps Server, where ten is the best product. I would give eight points for Microsoft Azure DevOps Server, which is better than nine. My overall review rating for this product is eight points.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Have spent most days focused on maintenance and performance optimization through task management and planning tools

What is our primary use case?

We have a SQL Server with Azure Managed Instance and Azure SQL DB. It's a SQL Server itself, just the SQL Server, managed instance, and Azure SQL DB.

With Azure, I deal with products such as Azure SQL, Azure Managed Instance, and SQL Managed Instance. It's one of the products Microsoft offers instead of a physical SQL Server machine. It's a Managed Instance with a SQL Server Agent and then Azure SQL DB, which is without the SQL Server Agent, in a few words.

I don't deal with Azure Database for PostgreSQL; it's only SQL Server. It's only Azure SQL; I don't deal with other database products or data solutions. I only work with SQL Server; I don't deal with other vendors either.

What is most valuable?

I'm not dealing with the reporting services with the SQL Server or the Master Data Services.

We have databases with a bunch of tables, and I'm doing support, maintenance, plus all the application support such as indexing, performance fine-tuning, and optimization. I spend the whole day on performance fine-tuning and optimization.

We use Microsoft Azure DevOps Server and Azure SQL, where we create stories and tasks. When tasks or stories are completed, they are marked as such.

I'm a user who deals with the stories and creates them when needed. I'm not the person handling that or acting as a Scrum Master. For me, it's the creation of the stories, which is how work is tracked. You prepare what you're going to work on in the next two weeks. Your manager creates stories and assigns them to you, and based on those stories, you work accordingly. During that time, there can be production issues that cause you to step away from working on your stories, but once you complete the production issue, you return to continue your work.

What needs improvement?

I need to think about areas for improvement. I'm not ready to discuss this topic at present.

For how long have I used the solution?

For how long have I used the solution?

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I had to open a ticket with Microsoft support for Azure SQL DB, and unfortunately, they could not resolve it. The issue we experienced disappeared, but when I asked for an explanation, they could not explain it to me. That's my experience with Microsoft support in the last six years.

How are customer service and support?

From zero to ten, I would give them an eight.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have not used a different solution before Microsoft Azure DevOps Server or evaluated similar products. Working for a large place means I'm assigned to a small area, which has its advantages and disadvantages.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I cannot comment on how I rate Microsoft Azure DevOps Server solution; I'm working in a small part of it and don't have enough experience.

What other advice do I have?

They use Azure Pipelines, but I personally do not use them.

People are integrating source control systems such as Git in my team, but I don't do that personally.

I'm not involved with the pricing or licensing of Azure.

For Microsoft Azure DevOps Server, I would give it an eight. I work with Microsoft and understand what they are trying to do; it really helps.

A few days ago, I got signed up for Copilot, and I went through training classes; it's really a great tool. I heard from others using it more regularly, and they found it very useful. It's definitely a very good and useful tool, so I can't give less than eight, but for Copilot, I can give them a nine or ten.

I work for a consultancy company as a consultant, not as a full-time employee.

Overall rating: 8/10
