Prisma Cloud provides an agent that can scan container images or Docker images. Otherwise, for Docker images and accounts, AWS provides its own tool and its own format for the report. Similarly, Azure provides its own format to scan those images. We used the agent provided by Prisma Cloud. It unified the approach. Irrespective of the provider, the format of the output and reports was similar. It was easy to compare apples to apples rather than comparing apples to oranges, which definitely is a challenge when we use different cloud providers. Prisma Cloud solved that problem for us.

I also saw that the solution is comprehensive in securing the entire development cycle, such as in building, deployment, and running, because it provides a dedicated CCS (Cloud Core Security) functionality, which is leverage.

Prisma Cloud allows us to add touchpoints to existing DevOps processes.

Prisma Cloud works with the CIB. Therefore, when we build and deploy something, we can incorporate a Prisma scan, which assists us in scanning the images and gaining insights into the state of our environment. It provides us with comprehensive visibility and raises alerts or triggers notifications to inform us of any missing elements or potential issues. This is how Prisma can contribute to the build and deploy phases.

Prisma Cloud safeguards our entire cloud-native development lifecycle. Palo Alto's architecture encompasses multiple engines, each with distinct functionalities. These engines include the SP3 engine, application visibility control engine, URL filtering engine, Wildfire, intelligent saving, zero trust, threat prevention, and content infection. Together, these engines enhance security, reliability, and threat monitoring.

Prisma can secure a cloud-native development cycle. We can configure Prisma to run a scan before we build the images.

Essentially, it provides security protection for every critical step within the development and production process.

The software development lifecycle was previously handled as a separate task. I was involved in the build process, where developers frequently introduced security vulnerabilities that went unnoticed until Prisma Cloud was integrated into the system. The recognition of Prisma Cloud's value in addressing container security issues on the cloud became apparent. There was no integration between the SDLC scanning, building, deploying, and running and deploying systems. However, a process was being developed to enable full end-to-end monitoring by the development and security teams, including the desktop team, to identify security issues before applications reached the cloud. Prisma Cloud continues to monitor for vulnerabilities and security breaches even after deployment to the cloud.

Prisma covers the full development cycle and helps us a lot. We use it in the development phase and get a good value from it.

We are more dependent on another product for visibility. Prisma Cloud does not have a natural feel, so we use another tool. About 75 to 80 percent of our workloads are connected to one solution, but Prisma Cloud has limitations. It doesn't have agents for them, so we use other tools or other native security tools to protect them.
