Full functionality was available for testing.

What is most valuable?

The object database is simply fantastic. It saves a lot of time when creating a new project.

How has it helped my organization?

The iBwave WiFi was really useful in terms of time saving for predictions and validation of RF coverages.

A very good instrument to create professional documents for customers and their IT staff.

What needs improvement?

Surely, one improvement could involve the materials panel in the prediction tool. For example, there are some materials missing in the materials list, like metallic shelves in a warehouse, metallic floors (mezzanine).

In the iBwave software there are some features and one of those is the capability to predict diffusion of the radiofrequency signals.
Propagation in a specific environment is conditioned by several things:
height of the RF Source, type of antenna (transmitter and receiver), obstacles between source and destination.
Obstacles may vary in a warehouse where could exist a stock of wood, or mineral water, or generic food (cartons or cans or bottles). All of this stuff may reflect or absorb the RF signal at certain frequencies so being able to predict the behavior of RF signals within a warehouse could be a very nice stuff. I tried with several different materials already in the system and I've found a good compromise but having it clear and ready to use could be great.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using iBwave for more than one year.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

We have never encountered deployment issues.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We have never encountered stability issues; this product looks very stable.

How are customer service and technical support?

Customer Service:

From 1 to 10, I would say customer service is a 10. Pre-sales and post-sales support were great.

Technical Support:

I needed their support only two times, not so much to give them a vote, but both times it was A+.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I was using an old version of Ekahau Survey, then I decided to change because of the support level from iBwave.

How was the initial setup?

Initial setup was not complex at all.

What about the implementation team?

An in-house team, our team, implemented it.

What was our ROI?

For our type of business, I think that the ROI can be considered as one year. It saves time and money with predictions that are very accurate. I tested personally a prediction with real devices after deployment; the results were almost the same.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Pricing and product quality are number one.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I tested Ekahau but in demo mode; full functionality was not available for testing, not even for a few days.

What other advice do I have?

iBwave were the only ones that gave me a fully functional demo (30 days). That's why I decided to buy iBwave WiFi; the only ones to give me a fully functional demo to test all the features.

The new UI has a better layout.

What is most valuable?

The new UI is fantastic, easy to navigate, and has a better layout.

I am referring to the icon size in the navigation bar, the description of the icon is self explanatory “Import iBwave Collection Data”. In general, I must say there are a lot of improvement in that regards. In my opinion, maintaining all the capabilities and resources available to the user is the most important differentiator when I evaluate similar prediction tools.

How has it helped my organization?

It is a more cost-effective way to do a Wi-Fi design since all the tools to be used to create a design are incorporated. We create more accurate designs since we have the tool.

What needs improvement?

  • Prediction processing time in general

For how long have I used the solution?

I have used Wi-Fii for two years, before IBWAVE Design to create In-building design as part of a daily activity.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

We have not encountered any deployment issues at all.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We have not encountered any stability issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We have not encountered any scalability issues.

How are customer service and technical support?

Customer Service:

Excellent customer service team!

Technical Support:

Top-notch technical support, as always.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Before, we used rudimentary tools. iBwave Design is the best tool for in-building design on the market.

How was the initial setup?

Initial setup was straightforward; easy to set up .

What about the implementation team?

A vendor team implemented it; it was top notch!!

What was our ROI?

I don't have visibility of the return of investment.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I suggest to go with perpetual licensing model.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before choosing this product, we also evaluated Ekahau.

What other advice do I have?

Keep going in the same direction!! Really good teamwork.

Provides AutoCAD import and 3D representation.

What is most valuable?

  • AutoCAD import
  • Network parts modeling and connection
  • 3D representation
  • Automatic calculations and reporting

How has it helped my organization?

  • Ability to offer professional engineering services even though we're not using it for Wi-Fi only, but it allows doing some technical studies on various proposed solutions to come up with an optimum design even for sites under construction

What needs improvement?

We hope iBwave improves the performance of large files and simplifies some routine tasks even further.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have used it for five years.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

We had to use a powerful machine to overcome typical performance issues with large files.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

There were very few crashes over the usage span, especially for a situation where memory is pushed to the limit.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We have not encountered any scalability issues, but it is very costly to renew the annual subscription to get the latest versions and features.

How are customer service and technical support?

Customer Service:

Customer service is 9/10.

Technical Support:

Technical support is 9/10.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We have not used a different solution before iBwave.

How was the initial setup?

Setup is always straightforward and user-friendly.

What about the implementation team?

We used our own expertise to deploy the solution.

What was our ROI?

  • Getting exposure to reputable clients and projects

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

There are many options to select from using iBwave's sales team help.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before choosing this product, we did not evaluate other options.

What other advice do I have?

Although the interface is user friendly, it's better to get well trained to use the solution in order to benefit from its detailed feature set.
