We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Storage was taking up maybe 10 to 20% of my life at the startup, and now it takes up zero. I was personally running all the infrastructure for the company. Now that we've moved to NetApp, I don't have to worry about making sure it's up and running. It's made my life personally much better.""In terms of its storage snapshot efficiencies, the service is highly efficient. We are only doing things in small batches right now because we have not converted all of the data, but we have tested them in the Google Cloud and they work efficiently.""High availability is very important to us because we have a production environment. High availability is the highest priority for us to continue keeping our systems running."

"The real-time alerts generated by this system enable us to swiftly address and mitigate such threats.""The inclusion of it in the Nutanix Objects Storage platform simplifies my process as I am no longer required to acquire a separate platform. Instead, I can simply purchase additional licenses as needed. All management can be performed from a single unified interface, making it a convenient and streamlined experience.""Nutanix Objects is reliable.""The initial setup is pretty straightforward. With a few clicks, you can stand up your storage. It reduces the overall life cycle of deployment within the ecosystem.""The scalability, ease of use, and technical support are the most valuable features of Nutanix Unified Storage.""Nutanix Unified Storage is a simple, user-friendly, and stable solution.""The solution is very easy to manage.""Unified Storage's centralized management features enable us to accomplish whatever we want in terms of operations and migrations."

Cons
"The user interface has room for improvement. We would like this service to be more integrated with Azure, which is very easy to manage and use. It was easy to create volumes and add capacity pools in Azure, but in Google Cloud, we can only create separate volumes. We need more management or configuration options in the user interface.""I would like for the sales team to get in contact more often and let me know what I should be doing next, what we should be doing about new features. So it would be nice if I heard a little bit more from him. From a technology perspective, I have no complaints.""It would help if they increased the area in which they employ artificial intelligence, by starting to do assessments on the environments, to project those. They're not using any AI tools, currently, on the administrative side."

"The solution is very expensive.""If they can add an integrated DLP feature, it would be great.""Allowing the use of the Gflag compromises the integrity of the Nutanix system and its established standards.""The interface could be improved.""The solution should keep adding new features to be competitive in the market.""Lowering the price would improve this product.""Customer service is more difficult to call and they do not responding as much as, for example, DataCore. It's not the same level of satisfaction compared to DataCore. Responses could be faster.""The GUI is not user-friendly for new users and has room for improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "We don't need so much space, and there is no option to pay as we go or use just what we need. Also, the only way to increase performance is by increasing the level of the service."
  • More NetApp Cloud Volumes Service for Google Cloud Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "The price of the license is expensive when comparing it to traditional storage."
  • "I find Nutanix Files Storage competitively priced, even its feature set. Its price is seven out of ten."
  • "If we compare the cost of Nutanix Objects Storage to other solutions such as VMware licenses, our current choice is Nutanix Objects Storage. This solution is more cost-effective. However, adding VMware to Nutanix would not be a cost-efficient decision, which is why we do not use it anymore."
  • "It is quite expensive otherwise as it comes with three-tier peer underlying hardware."
  • "For clients running Nutanix, the licensing cost for Files is a small add-on cost."
  • "With all of the Nutanix equipment, the licensing is expensive. We operate in the enterprise space, but we're a midsized company. At times, the price tag is a little bit shocking for a company with only 35 employees. We're not a Fortune 500 company, but we deal with Fortune 500 drug and energy companies. We have to play in that enterprise space if we're going to have enterprise customers. I'm very price-conscious, but I understand that if I want the best, I've got to pay the price."
  • "It's not the cheapest solution. It's in line with other solutions, but it offers features that the competitors don't have at any price point, especially with regard to analytics and ransomware prevention. No one else has any sort of object-based storage available. Nutanix Unified Storage is a lot more feature-rich. This is a situation where you get what you pay for."
  • "The product is pricey."
