Pros
"It is a reliable solution.""It is among the best, even if not widely known.""Back in the day, we could only get reports and analyze what happened after the fact, but today now we can generate real-time insights. Transformation Manager feeds your data science projects. We generate models and then give them to the clients, so they can come up with real-time predictions and recommendations in addition to reporting."

"The out-of-box integration between Oracle and SAP is really beneficial""The initial setup of Oracle Integration Cloud Service was easy.""Oracle Integration Cloud Service integrates well and is user-friendly. If you are not a developer or ops engineer you can still use the solution with ease. You do not need to have developers' knowledge, you can easily adapt and learn quickly to integrate the services. They have good documentation.""The OIC is very good.""I particularly like the drag-and-drop feature for designing integrations and processes.""People are able to scale up, learn it quickly, and start delivering.""OIC offers a number of pre-built technology and SaaS adapters for high productivity for a wide range of target systems, both in-house via agents and cloud/SaaS, via a very flexible range of interfaces.""It's very easy to get started on the solution. It's also easy to maintain, scale, and integrate according to cost factors."

Cons
"There is room for improvement in the solution's visualization tool.""They should build a functional architecture based on queuing.""Transformation Manager reporting could be better. There are better options for reporting tools these days. We use Microsoft BI sometimes, but Tableau is becoming too expensive. Microsoft BI's visualization features are maturing."

"In designer mode, sometimes the browser closure or other unknown issues can cause strange behavior, which requires a restart.""Now the platform is not built in a way that you can define.""The error retrying mechanism could be improved. If an error occurs, it can be retried automatically, it would be helpful.""The solution doesn't currently have a fully fledged workflow feature like they have in OIM.""Oracle Integration Cloud Service can improve file handling. Currently, our real-time file polling limitation is 10 MB, if that size can be increased it would be helpful. For example, increasing the size from 10 MB to 1 GB.""The logging capabilities could be enhanced. Currently, logs are only retained for a few days, which can be inconvenient for administrators. Ideally, we'd like the option to configure log retention periods, like a month or fifteen days, instead of the current one-week limit.""The solution is expensive.""There is a payload size limit and we're unable to integrate some legacy applications."

    Overview
Transformation Manager is an integrated development toolkit that is used to build data migration and data integration solutions more efficiently. A metadata-driven code generator, Transformation Manager provides users with the ability to generate lightweight, easy-to-deploy code. It combines a Graphical User Interface with a statement-driven mapping language. The Transformation Manager software derives metadata from the elements, attributes and relationships in a source and target model. Transformation Manager then uses rules specified by Simple Mapping Language (SML), which is specifically designed for implementing data transformation projects, to generate code written in Java.

    Reviews from Real Users

Oracle Integration Cloud Service is a solution that stands out when compared to many of its competitors. Some of its major advantages are that it has good adapters, is user friendly, and produces a solid ROI.

Rishabh S., Business and Technology Delivery Associate Manager at Accenture, says, “It has good performance, easy integration, is user-friendly, and also has helpful technical support. The dashboard provided by Oracle Integration Cloud for monitoring and error handling is very intuitive. You do not need a third-party dashboard or logging framework when you initiate the integration. There are a lot of adapters, which is what I like the most.”

“The most valuable features of this solution are the SFTP adapters, file adapters, and risk adapters, that we use in everyday projects,” says PeerSpot user Arun N., Technical Manager at a financial services firm.

Kanhaiya C., Solution Architect at Tata Consultancy, explains, "Oracle Integration Cloud Service is a really good product and the ROI is very good with it. It lowers development time. A development cycle that may have taken a year without Oracle Integration Cloud Service can drop down to three or four months with it."
