We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It has helped me get some ideas across more clearly to my colleagues.""The capability to integrate all information of the business and to generate simulations of processes. It can analyze the model of operations quickly.""Also, the UML parts have been improved very much in the last two years. And it's very powerful now to combine the BPMN and UML parts in the product, because you can make a connection between them, so that you have the right interoperability between them. So if you're doing data modeling, you can use your class diagram and bind that to the BPMN part.""The whole ARIS BPM solution is a bit special, because from the very beginning it was targeted more to Business users and the Management.""The most valuable feature is the flexibility of the solution to fully customize the methodology according to the company's needs, and to enforce that methodology with features like filters, semantic checks, and reports.""The most valuable features of ARIS BPA are its flexibility and reporting.""In addition to our applications, we have also stored, in ARIS, the footprint of where those applications have been implemented. That means we know in which country a given application has been implemented. With embedded geolocation, we have a very visual world map, where we can see the footprint of each application.""The most valuable feature is the process documentation. For us, ARIS is a lifestyle more than a tool. It helps us learn how to think and how to plan for our system."

"Informatica Business Process Manager is easy to use and learn.""There isn't any human touch involved. It's just an automated business process to build different applications and talking to various APIs using the client's ecosystems. We then build new functionalities out of it.""I know that there are two good features, APN and ServiceNow but we haven't explored all of its features yet."

Cons
"Some improvements have been done, after Software AG acquired ARIS, but I don't believe it's still integrated with the other tool WebMethods in a perfect way.""User interface (UI).""The solution's processes are huge and it is not easy to get an overview of how things work. It needs to improve the interface. I would like to see the product include a better overview of processes and improve search.""I use it strictly for developing the business process model. I don't use it for the actual automation. I do that with Vtenext. I have standardized on Vtenext, and I don't use ARIS BPM anymore. The Vtenext UI is just as good, and it is much more tightly coupled to the underlying object model. I can get more done in one session with Vtenext rather than first going to ARIS BPM, then importing, and having to edit it for tight coupling.""I would like the possibility to use real data. In other words, it can use this system to integrate with others that are operating directing with users like clients, employs, and others.""The workflow approval process could be represented better in the overviews.""Integration with third-party tools should be improved (e.g. based on APIs).""One of the biggest challenges is to realistically enable the defined structures of the processes that you have in ARIS documented, and then actually implement them in the business."

"We haven't had many technical issues. We don't use all of the components of the tool that are more complex and error-prone.""I need to have some insight into the tool's cloud capabilities."
