  • "The solution's pricing should be improved."

What is our primary use case?

We use the solution because we consistently upgrade the laptops and desktops to ensure synchronization with the SIP set.

All the features of the solution are good. The enterprise environment seamlessly integrates with Cisco Wireless.

What needs improvement?

The solution's pricing should be improved.

For how long have I used the solution?

How are customer service and support?

I have contacted customer service and support about licenses and other technical aspects. I have not faced any issues.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

In my latest company, we use Aruba Networks and Cisco Wireless on-site. We use Aruba for IPs on Azure, while Cisco Wireless is used on Azure as well due to the high cost of data processing. For Aruba, we use models like the 5747 and the latest 370 series. In addition, there are other services like the 7200 controller and the 5700 series used across various rooms.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing is a bit high, and I would rate it a six on a scale of one to ten, with ten being the most expensive.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

What other advice do I have?

The solution is good for our environment. Overall, I rate it a perfect ten.

Centralized control simplifies device management but stability requires attention
Pros and Cons
  • "One of the most valuable features of ExtremeWireless is its centralized control, which influenced our choice."
  • "There are concerns regarding the stability of ExtremeWireless. It could be an area of improvement, especially when compared to previous solutions such as Motorola before their acquisition."

What is our primary use case?

We mainly use ExtremeWireless for the warehouse, specifically for the Zebra handheld devices and printers.

What is most valuable?

One of the most valuable features of ExtremeWireless is its centralized control, which influenced our choice. It also offers powerful security features, although the stability is somewhat lacking compared to previous solutions. The initial setup process was straightforward, and the cloud deployment model, which we utilize, suits our needs.

What needs improvement?

There are concerns regarding the stability of ExtremeWireless. It could be an area of improvement, especially when compared to previous solutions such as Motorola before their acquisition. Another area that could use enhancement is the clarity and implementation of updates, as they can be troublesome sometimes.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using ExtremeWireless since after 2020.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability of ExtremeWireless is somewhat weaker compared to previous solutions, like Motorola before its acquisition.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

ExtremeWireless is suitable for companies with a user base below three hundred. If the number exceeds that, stability issues may arise, making it less ideal for larger user bases.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support might be rated around five or six. The response time and quality could be better, and updates can be troublesome at times.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We previously used Cisco Wireless due to its superior stability. However, we switched because of a change in the parent company.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup of ExtremeWireless was a simple process.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

From a corporate point of view, stability is more important than pricing. While many companies might choose a lower-priced option to reduce operational costs, they might not account for the potential instability and its associated downtimes, which can be problematic.

What other advice do I have?

Overall, ExtremeWireless has a lot of room for improvement. The main concern is stability. As a user, I focus on supporting the devices and ensuring they meet my client’s needs. While I do not handle the AI integration, I've heard it's a new feature that could enhance functionality. I rate ExtremeWireless at seven out of ten.
