What is our primary use case?

I use Dell RecoverPoint as a backup and recovery device for my clients. It provides comprehensive backup and recovery solutions.

What is most valuable?

The failover and failback options are the most impactful features of Dell RecoverPoint in terms of data protection. Additionally, the ability to take point-in-time copies and the remote replication capabilities, both asynchronous and synchronous, work very well.

What needs improvement?

The interfaces could be improved for better ease of use. There's also room for improvement in direct compatibility with other solutions. The version designed for VMware, RecoverPoint for VMs, simplifies many problems in the VMware environment.

The primary use case for Fivetran is integrating with multiple data sources. We explored this use case when considering Fivetran.

What is most valuable?

The ability to seamlessly integrate with a large variety of data sources is valuable. Fivetran is an easy-to-deploy solution for organizations looking at integrating a wide variety of data sources. We used Fivetran as a proof of concept and found it very stable during the short duration of our use.

What needs improvement?

In our case, we ultimately did not end up using Fivetran because we were able to do custom connects at a lower cost compared to Fivetran. From a cost perspective, if the number of connectors is lesser, then Fivetran is not the most cost-efficient option.
