IT Central Station Announces New Trending Feature Based on Crowdsourced Data

New York, NY, July 29, 2015 – IT Central Station, the leading product review site for enterprise technology, announced the release of its new trending functionality based on actual crowdsourced data.

The data collected for this new trending feature is collected from IT Central Station’s website and the product’s total ranking is based on a weighted aggregate ranking of its views, comparisons, reviews, followers, and average rating.

On every category page upward and downward trending products can be viewed by way of up/down arrows located next to the vendor logo. If a product is trending up or down, it means that, within the last 3 months, it has moved up or down the chart for the Top Products in that category. A double arrow shows that it is moving quickly.

To view a real-time example of this feature, click here to see how Firewall tools are trending. FireEye, for instance, has moved significantly up in the ranking, whereas, pfSense, Cyberoam UTM, and Palo Alto Networks WildFire have moved downwards.

Individual scores for the top rated Firewall tools can be seen here.

“IT Central Station is an invaluable source to get opinions from other enterprise users in a trusted environment,” said Warren Kudman, who serves on the Advisory Board of IT Central Station and is Chief Information Officer at Turner Construction Company, one of the largest construction management companies in the United States, “The trending tool, in addition to the validated product reviews and peer connections, will help users make technology purchasing decisions.”

Russell Rothstein, Co-Founder and CEO of IT Central Station, added, “Our community of enterprise tech users have been asking us for trending data for a while now and it's exciting to be able to deliver it to them.”
