IT Central Station Selected as Finalist for MIT Sloan CIO Symposium's Innovation Showcase

Cambridge, MA - April 29, 2013 – The 10th Annual MIT Sloan CIO Symposium has announced that IT Central Station, the “Yelp for Enterprise Tech,” has been selected as one of ten finalists for the 2013 Innovation Showcase as it represents a cutting edge B2B solution that combines strong value and innovation to enterprise IT.

"IT Central Station is a disruptive, innovative platform at the forefront of this new social buying process, based on crowdsourcing, product reviews, and professional social networking."

This is the latest in a series of recent accolades for IT Central Station which includes being named one of the top three highlights for B2B tech social marketing by Forrester Research and being called “The Yelp for CIOs” by the Wall Street Journal.

After careful consideration, the Innovation Showcase Judges, (consisting of MIT faculty, entrepreneurs, and early-stage investors) chose IT Central Station as it

  • Is a start-up with less than $10 million in 2012 revenue
  • Is selling B2B enterprise IT solutions to CIOs or corporate departments
  • Shows innovation as well as potential impact on the top and bottom lines

Since the inception of the Innovation Showcase, several of the Finalists have achieved significant success:

  • Yammer (2010 Finalist) was acquired by Microsoft for $1.2B.
  • CloudSwitch (2010 Finalist) was acquired by Verizon.
