The solution saves time, improves process consistency and reduces human error
Pros and Cons
  • "AA improves process consistency and reduces human error."
  • "I'd love to see the ability to build web or mobile applications that are integrated with Automation Anywhere bots, so that a user can work on a web interface directly. Then, it can be linked to the Automation Anywhere bots in the background. They just hit a button, and all the data or information will be used by the bot to do some process in the back end."

What is our primary use case?

We have built over 75 automations with Automation Anywhere across various teams in the organization, delivering a high value for our internal teams. We have explored a couple of process transformations with Automation Anywhere using their IQ bots and AI automation tools.

We have integrated applications like SAP ECC, One Source Automation, and SharePoint using Python code. Our company has 25 AA developers.

How has it helped my organization?

AA improves process consistency and reduces human error. We have saved our clients considerable time using Automation Anywhere. While we don't assess the dollar savings, we look at the amount of time saved per project. The tasks were previously completed by hand, but Automation Anywhere enabled a lot of process automation, giving users automation that runs around the clock. For example, we can automate processes to address point-in-time reports so a user doesn't need to wake up at midnight to handle these issues.

We haven't gotten approval to implement AI, but when we do, I believe it will accelerate the time savings we realize through automation. We will work with other teams to show them the value of AI and automation.

What is most valuable?

Automation Anywhere's most valuable feature is its ease of use. It's easy to envision a solution or process to transform with Automation Anywhere from end to end. We can realize the value much faster because it's easy to use and understand.

All the features are impressive. We haven't had a chance to use the Copilot or other AI features, but the studio is great. It's the platform where we build the bots. The IQ Bot used to be excellent, but the IQ Bot isn't available anymore. I believe it's document automation, which is also very good.

Anyone at any level can use Automation Anywhere. Once you get the hang of it, it's highly intuitive, and the learning curve is short. We started seeing value from Automation Anywhere within a month or so after implementation, but that was with the older version. It's even faster now that everything is on the web.

Training employees using the courses takes a couple of weeks, followed by another week or so of hands-on learning on the platform. It takes about four weeks to onboard a user.

What needs improvement?

Automation Anywhere can improve its integration. For example, you can't directly integrate Automation Anywhere with SharePoint or third-party applications seamlessly. Adding seamless third-party integration would add a lot of value to the platform. We need to use APIs or Python coding to integrate the third-party applications. If Automation Anywhere could add some connectors, that would be great.

I'd love to see the ability to build web or mobile applications that are integrated with Automation Anywhere bots, so that a user can work on a web interface directly. Then, it can be linked to the Automation Anywhere bots in the background. They just hit a button, and all the data or information will be used by the bot to do some process in the back end.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have used Automation Anywhere for five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We've never had any issues with stability.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It's easy to build automations and scale Automation Anywhere.

How are customer service and support?

I rate Automation Anywhere support 10 out of 10. The tech support is great. We have a CSM we can contact for information, and they're very responsive.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

How was the initial setup?

We use the SaaS model of Automation Anywhere, so the deployment was easy. We set up the infrastructure in under a week. We worked closely with the Automation Anywhere folks because we wanted a clean slate. We didn't want to migrate from the older version to the SaaS edition and took it as an opportunity to clean up the bots. It didn't require much effort, and only two people were involved. The upgrade process was simple. Maintenance is minimal. It only takes a couple of people to maintain 75 bots.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Automation Anywhere's pricing is excellent.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Automation Anywhere nine out of 10. I would recommend it to others. It's intuitive and easy to implement.

Automation has transformed HR and accounting workflows and now saves thousands of manual hours

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for SS&C Blue Prism is to automate repeated tasks which don't require human intervention and to save time and cost through automation. A few HR processes have already been automated. A couple of accounting functionalities are in the process of automation. Once done, it will be able to handle this task without any hassle. We are offering clients the opportunity to include this in their own processes as well, and talks for this are in the finalizing stage.

What is most valuable?

The best features SS&C Blue Prism offers are that data manipulation and handling is very easy and user-friendly. Email handling is excellent, and we are able to automate this task easily. It is considerably secure in handling sensitive data credentials.

SS&C Blue Prism has positively impacted my organization as it has saved a considerable amount of time, more than 5,000 hours of manual work so far. It has saved a considerable amount of money as well. If their costing improves, this metric will improve largely for all organizations. It requires very little coding, so instead of hiring new people trained in a specific tool, we are able to manage this with the existing workforce with a few weekend classes. This approach is very manageable.

What needs improvement?

People new to automation will find it a bit tedious at the beginning because object recognition methods will take a while to catch on. Pricing for SS&C Blue Prism will need improvement for larger market capture.

SS&C Blue Prism can be improved in that costing is on the higher side, especially for organizations working under a tight budget. Object recognition could use improvement. It is almost there, but if we could do away with almost any need for coding, it will be great, especially for those who are less tech-savvy.

The documentation for SS&C Blue Prism is adequate, but tutorials and online videos would be beneficial if added.

The only other improvements needed for SS&C Blue Prism that I haven't mentioned yet is that costing is higher and object recognition work may need time to be hands-on.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using SS&C Blue Prism for the past five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

SS&C Blue Prism is very stable. I have not experienced any downtime or lagging.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

SS&C Blue Prism's scalability is excellent as it can easily handle a large amount of data. It grows with my organization's needs and is very scalable.

How are customer service and support?

My experience with SS&C Blue Prism's customer support is that the support is good and with time, online support in other forums is becoming available as well.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Previously, we were using UiPath Enterprise RPA platform. The reason why we switched, despite UiPath being a good tool, was that it is open source, so it has some limitations. However, SS&C Blue Prism is more popular and famous as of now. Our team took that into consideration before making the final decision. It is also very easy to use with minimal coding. Additionally, it automates a lot and is easy to handle, saving time and money. Those factors were another big plus. That is why we decided to switch from UiPath to SS&C Blue Prism.

How was the initial setup?

My experience with SS&C Blue Prism's pricing, setup cost, and licensing is that the cost can be high, especially for organizations working under a tight budget, so the price could be more pocket-friendly and user-friendly. The setup is fairly simple. If you could do away with the coding, it would be perfect.

What was our ROI?

I have seen a return on investment with SS&C Blue Prism as it has saved us money and time through automation.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before choosing SS&C Blue Prism, I evaluated other options such as Micro Focus LoadRunner.

What other advice do I have?

I calculated the 5,000 hours saved through SS&C Blue Prism by doing a consideration and comparison between our previous tool, which was UiPath Enterprise RPA platform. I can now calculate that we have been able to save 5,000 hours of manual work so far.

My advice to others looking into using SS&C Blue Prism is that it is a good tool that has enabled us to handle a large amount of data. It saves time and cost through automation. Therefore, it is a great tool.

SS&C Blue Prism is very secure in handling our sensitive data credentials, and we have peace of mind. I would rate this product a 9 out of 10.
