We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"From a data center implementation, with respect to competition from your data, there isn't really a product recovery for the different tests other than Cisco Nexus. For example, if you take Multi-tenancy for the data center, it's something which, I think, only Cisco has. There are some implementation from HP, but I think it's limited there.""The interface is easy to use. It is not much different from iOS, but you can use it on a larger scale in data centers.""The most valuable feature of this solution is that it scales well. It supports a lot of servers. We don't have to come up with different designs for anything. That's the best part about it.""Cisco technical support is a good backup team when you have issues with anything. If you open a case they are very good at following up and making sure that the issue's resolved according to the needs of our network.""This is a powerful device and I can get good bandwidth.""This solution improves network speed and provides high availability for our users.""The implementation was straightforward and the product is stable.""The most valuable features are that it is easy to use, provides stability, easy to configure, low latency, and it provides communication to the data center."

Cons
"The scalability can be improved.""There may be many bugs which remain unresolved.""We have encountered some software bugs.""There are limitations on some of the lower level 9K solutions where you can't do the same things that you would normally be able to do, like for instance the number of static maps that you can configure on it.""In the next release of the solution, I would like to see varying integration between VRF (Virtual Routing and Forwarding) instances so we can integrate BGB into different VRFs in a more organized way. We have some issues with tunnels and VRFs.""Multi contexts would be nice to have to separate different tenants logically and securely.""Don't discard Cisco Nexus because of the price.""The product lacks options for integration with other market products that would allow us more flexibility."

    Overview
The Cisco Nexus family of switches is designed to meet the stringent requirements of the next-generation data center. Not simply bigger or faster, these switches offer the following characteristics: infrastructure that can be scaled cost-effectively and that helps you increase energy, budget, and resource efficiency, transport that can navigate the transition to 10 Gigabit Ethernet and unified fabric and can also handle architectural changes such as virtualization, Web 2.0 applications, and cloud computing and operational continuity to meet your need for an environment where system availability is assumed and maintenance windows are rare if not totally extinct.
Force10 TeraScale E-Series leverages a unique three CPU architecture that distributes switching, routing and management functionalities between three distinct processors, ensuring that an attack on one function does not impact the rest of the system. Additionally, by providing separate data and control planes, the TeraScale E-Series also allows network managers to always access the system, even under attack. And with advanced rate limiting algorithms, the TeraScale E-Series is able to prevent traffic floods that could cripple the system.
