We performed a comparison between Check Point CloudGuard Network Security and Cisco SD-WAN based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Software Defined WAN (SD-WAN) Solutions solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The product gives analytic reports."
"Auto-scaling and zero touch are valuable features."
"It is scalable. It's a cloud solution, so it's easy to implement and manage."
"The most valuable feature of Check Point CloudGuard Network Security is the increased mail protection including spam."
"The query feature is going to be a game-changer for us as we move forward."
"This solution brings us closer to having a better security score, which helps us a lot in complying with information regulations based on security."
"Advanced check prevention is a great feature that provides threat intelligence at speed."
"The capability to auto-scale in or out, depending on the resource demand is great."
"The user experience is pretty good."
"I have found the solution's main features are its ability to be customized, network traffic classification, and has a wide range of features that can be set."
"The tool is stable, and its troubleshooting capabilities are good. It helps us identify and fix any issues. It simplifies VPN setup for both side-to-side and multisite connections. This allows for easier data sharing between main and branch offices, creating a local network feel even for distant sites."
"When considering the most valuable features of Cisco SD-WAN, the decoupling of self-monitoring stands out significantly."
"The most valuable features of Cisco SD-WAN are reliability and scalability."
"Cisco SD-WAN has separate OMP routing."
"With other routing protocols, we have had to send team members to perform installations and configurations. There is a lot of work involved. However with SD-WAN, once it is installed it is fully automated, and we can do all other tasks remotely. We don't have to send staff out to the client's location. It's very independent, and we can establish SD-WAN connectivity easily. It is secure as well."
"The most valuable features are manageability, scalability, and simplicity."
"The documentation has been rough. Being able to do it yourself can be hit or miss given the constraints of the documentation."
"It's meeting our needs at this time. If I could make it better, it would be by making it more standalone. That would be beneficial to us. I say that because our current platform for virtualization is VMware. The issue isn't any fault of Check Point, it's more how the virtualization platform partners allow for that partnership and integration. There has to be close ties and partnerships between the vendors to ensure interoperability and sup-portability. There is only so far that Check Point, or any security vendor technology can go without the partnership and enablement of the virtualization platform vendor as it relies on "Service Insertion" to maintain optimal performance."
"I think they have pretty much mastered what can be done. There are some nuances like when you fail over from one cluster member to the other, the external IP address takes about two minutes to fail over."
"There is room for improvement, especially concerning the integration with the management center. It would be beneficial if tasks that currently require scripts could be performed directly from the GUI."
"We have the product deployed on Azure China. One crucial concern is the version limitation; unfortunately, in Azure China, we are restricted to running version R80. Our architecture has a Load Balancer, VMSS CloudGuard, etc. The duplication in this setup prevents the application from seeing the original client IP. This poses a problem for certain applications that require the original IP for login purposes. Although we managed a workaround with a different architecture involving a WAF, it is not as straightforward as the standard Azure setup."
"The product needs to improve support. They don't consider my case the number one priority even though I want a quick resolution."
"In the past year, I noticed that the challenging part, especially in the cloud, is upgrading to the next release of the firewall. Unlike on-premise upgrades, it's not as simple in the cloud. You need to recreate the machine, which makes the process more complex."
"Check Point could show us use cases that would help us in Czech and could help us with security threats in our specific country."
"We don't have any issues with this solution other than the price."
"What I find should be improved is the possibility of really separating the software layer from the hardware layer since today the current offer is not well adopted by the service providers"
"The solution is very costly."
"In the next release, Cisco should focus on simplifying the configuration of SD-WAN. SD-WAN has a lot of room to grow."
"Better pricing and greater security would be nice to see."
"We have had some problems with the licensing model, and it is something that should be improved."
"It's an expensive solution."
"Compresson deduplication should be added."
