We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The user interface is responsive and quite intuitive; when selecting an object it automatically shows the relevant actions.""Overall, it provides good security.""People implementing this solution are concerned with addressing a significant risk, and within the AWS realm, this tool does de-risk substantially.""The solution is scalable.""The automatic learning and an AI engine help to find more modern vulnerability problems.""I love the work involved in maintaining and scaling security services and configurations across multiple public clouds using this solution, versus using native native cloud security controls. It is so much better. The different cloud platforms all have their own way that they handle a lot of the stuff that Dome9 handles. Even within their platform, they are in a lot of disparate places, e.g., in AWS, there are five different tools. You have to jump between them to get the same information that you can just pull in automatically on Dome9, which is just one platform. We are using multiple platforms, so that makes it even more complicated and time consuming if you had to just rely on them to get all of your information. Whereas, it's all just summarized and put together on the Dome9 end.""The identification of misconfigurations, maintenance of compliance in a centralized way, and visibility across all the multi-cloud tenants are the key functionalities.""Dome9 wraps our FTP infrastructure with its network security configurations, and this also gives us the ability to monitor FTP activity."

"DHCP is a basic service, and they've been doing it for years, so it's mature and stable.""The security of the solution is perfect. It's very good at protecting us from attacks.""Infoblox Secure DNS helped us protect our internal environment by mitigating and stopping attacks through the Internet using DNS protocols and queries.""I like that Infoblox Advanced DNS Protection is one hundred percent good, performance-wise.""The most valuable features of Infoblox Advanced DNS Protection are the services, DHCP, and debugging. Additionally, we can use APIs and ansible scripts.""The most valuable feature of Infoblox Advanced DNS Protection is its performance and visibility.""Infoblox offers granularity and advanced DNS protection to mitigate DNS attacks. It's a very secure solution.""The solution's user interface is very smooth compared to other products."

Cons
"It should capture more information in metadata including communication detail. Also, Internal IP addresses should not be tracked as this might be having some compliance issues.""We have had some issues with the performance. In some cases, the performance of CloudGuard CNAPP is impacted. Particularly during the intensive security scans in high-traffic environments, there has been a performance impact.""The setup can be better. With every other Check Point product, the setup is scripted. You just approve versions, and then you are off. The setup for this solution is still very much manual. I would like to see that transition to more of a scripted setup.""CloudGuard could be more customizable. It has built-in standards for things like GDPR compliance. But depending on your business lane, you might want to build your own controls based on your own standards.""The reporting dashboard responds slowly, which leads to late report compilation.""Especially with cloud security, there's too much clutter on the screen and too many things going on.""We're looking for a solution that can incorporate legacy infrastructure for some of our business needs.""The software configurations theory is complicated, and without proper planning and a well-skilled technical team, it cannot perform its tasks properly."

More Check Point CloudGuard CNAPP Cons →

"There needs to be more capabilities in order to configure the console itself instead of the user interface dashboard. Configuring the DNS or DHCP through the console instead of the GUI dashboard would be better.""The service monitoring information could be simplified of this appliance and the information displayed on the dashboards could be improved. I have not found one dashboard to be perfect. For example, in Splunk, I can create a dashboard in Grafana. However, in Grafana, it takes a very long time to create them. There should be another API to do it better.""They are not supporting high query logging. They have a very limited size for the syslog, so they are usually asking for external storage, external network, and integration in order to keep the syslog. If you are considering the high volume traffic of the carrier-grade, then the syslog will hold for around five to 10 minutes. This is not enough time and it is being rotated. This is the main issue and the main limitation that we face with them that they need to work on.""There is a steep learning curve to be able to use Infoblox Advanced DNS Protection well.""There should be better alerts for when attacks are happening.""The price could be reduced to improve the solution.""The solution's logging could be improved.""The solution is expensive."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "They support either annual licensing or hourly. At the time of our last negotiation, it was either one or the other, you could not mix or match. I would have liked to mix/match. "
  • "I would advise taking into account the existing number of devices and add a forecast of the number of devices to be added in the coming year or two, to obtain better pricing."
  • "It is a very straightforward licensing model that is based on the number of assets you are discovering and managing with the solution."
  • "The licensing and costs are straightforward, as they have a baseline of 100 workloads (number of instances) within one license with no additional nor hidden charges. If you want to have 200 workloads under Dome9, then you need to take out two licenses for that. Also, it does not have any impact on cloud billing, as data is shared using the API call. This is well within the limit of free API calls provided by the cloud provider."
  • "I suggest that you pay attention to the product pricing because while there are no tricks, and the licensing model is transparent, the final numbers may surprise you."
  • "Right now, we have licenses on 500 machines, and they are not cheap."
  • "The pricing is tremendous and super cheap. It is shockingly cheap for what you get out of it. I am happy with that. I hope that doesn't get reported back and they increase the prices. I love the pricing and the licensing makes sense. It is just assets: The more stuff that you have, the more you pay."
  • "Licensing and costs are straightforward, as they have a baseline of 100 workloads within one license and no additional charges."
