We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable aspect of CloudEndure Disaster Recovery is its instant block replication feature. This allows us to perform live block verification and eliminates the need to concern ourselves with recovery point objectives. This capability is particularly advantageous for critical workloads.""For regular backup and restore solutions, this product is fine.""We went from an organization with minimal to no disaster recovery. I was able to spin up the disaster recovery environment with AWS rather quickly and meet business requirements.""The initial setup is really straightforward.""It provides our disaster recovery solution. It works fine in our tests.""We have never had any issues with scalability.""It's on the cheaper side and not too expensive for users.""CloudEndure Disaster Recovery is a fairly stable solution."

"The presentation is the most valuable feature. It's very conceptual. We had to follow the instructions very strictly. It's a Dutch or German product and we had to follow it step-by-step.""It is the central point for all our data storage. We have one single version of the truth that we can communicate to all our customers.""What's most valuable in SAP NetWeaver is the integration. That's been very helpful because the company has one thousand five hundred interfaces running, so integration has been the most significant factor. I've also seen many improvements in the SAP NetWeaver user experience, where users can have reports delivered to mobile devices.""Finance and distribution are the most important features.""The integration feature is valuable.""The human capital management module is valuable.""SAP NetWeaver is doing its job, and it performs well. In the last year, I have not had any problems with it.""Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."

Cons
"The solution's network setup and a lot of the control tower setup could be improved.""The user interface, customer support, and the recovery time for the current customer query could use improvement.""Definitely there should be better logging. From a customer perspective I would like to see more logs on what is happening. If there is an issue, I would like to know what the problem is. Right now, we have to depend on the support of the vendor to check and let us know, because we don't have access to a lot of logging information.""Sometimes a server will get a bit behind. ""I have not seen any areas that need improvement at this time.""I would like to see better support for creating and working with archives.""The UI could be a little sleeker.""The only thing I would like to see is, they don't have a formal ticketing system. There is no way I can go back and see what questions we had six months back, what issues we had, and how they were resolved."

"The product documentation can be improved.""The initial setup is a little complex. The users are not able to install the prerequisite drivers or are not able to follow the SOP because they don't have access to SAP Logon. If users already have access, it will take seven to 10 days to deploy the solution. If they do not, it may take a maximum of 25 to 30 days.""SAP NetWeaver PI is not connected to the cloud.""Technical support response time was slow.""It needs more improvement in terms of user-friendliness. SAP wasn't user-friendly at all.""SAP is likely transitioning to S4, so it is unlikely that they will continue to use NetWeaver.""Though SAP NetWeaver has been pretty stable and mature, some issues arose after some customizations, so that's an area for improvement.""The initial setup was not very easy."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "We were happy with the pricing that they gave us."
  • "They license us on a per machine basis. We have a set number of machines, which we have licensed."
  • "I feel the product's pricing is a good value. Licensing is pretty straightforward."
  • "The pricing is better now that they had come out with the Tier 2 which replicates a little less often. In comparison to what I would have been spending with any other type of solution, the pricing is fair."
  • "Where the price adds up, there are CloudEndure licenses, then there is the AWS environment, and finally, there is the AWS storage, so cumulatively, it adds up."
  • "It has saved us money from having to buy hardware for disaster recovery."
  • "CloudEndure Disaster Recovery is charging clients $20 to do the DR backups. It is an expensive solution."
  • "I rate the price of CloudEndure Disaster Recovery a six out of ten."

  • "It's a very expensive solution."
  • "The licensing costs are on a yearly basis."
  • "SAP NetWeaver requires a license, but I'm not sure how the licenses and payments were coordinated."
  • "On a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive, I rate the pricing a nine to ten since it is an expensive solution."

    Overview

AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery (AWS DRS) minimizes downtime and data loss with fast, reliable recovery of on-premises and cloud-based applications using affordable storage, minimal compute, and point-in-time recovery.

Set up AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery on your source servers to initiate secure data replication. Your data is replicated to a staging area subnet in your AWS account, in the AWS Region you select. The staging area design reduces costs by using affordable storage and minimal compute resources to maintain ongoing replication. You can perform non-disruptive tests to confirm that implementation is complete. During normal operation, maintain readiness by monitoring replication and periodically performing non-disruptive recovery and failback drills. If you need to recover applications, you can launch recovery instances on AWS within minutes, using the most up-to-date server state or a previous point in time. After your applications are running on AWS, you can choose to keep them there, or you can initiate data replication back to your primary site when the issue is resolved. You can fail back to your primary site whenever you’re ready.

SAP NetWeaver is an open application platfrom that provides a comprehensive set of tools and Web services technologies that support seamless enterprise application integration, master data management (MDM), system integration, and more.
