What is our primary use case?

I have been using Juniper Mist Premium Analytics for almost three and a half years, mainly in a service-based company in Qatar. The primary use case was to introduce the product to the customer, design it, implement it, and provide post-implementation support. As a senior engineer, I focused on Juniper and Juniper Mist products.

What is most valuable?

The most important features are the site-to-site user experience, including details like how many users are on a site, the number of users on an SSID, and identifying guest users in business premises. These features help in understanding peak times during business hours and are highly valued by customers in Qatar.

What needs improvement?

Before October 2024, there was room for improvement in the UI to make it more user-friendly. The Client Insight page on Juniper Mist Premium Analytics could be made simpler. Data downloaded in Excel or CSV format was not easily readable, requiring clients to sift through multiple details.

For how long have I used the solution?

I used Juniper Mist Premium Analytics for around three and a half years until 2021.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

The initial deployment was challenging, particularly in 2021, as Juniper Mist Premium Analytics was still in its early stages. Documentation was inadequate, making it difficult to understand its features and data offerings. However, the situation has improved since then.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is stable due to its Cloud-based nature, which eliminates downtime or crashing issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I cannot really comment on its scalability from a user perspective, as it's something that developers would handle from their side.

How are customer service and support?

Customer support is good but depends on the priority of the ticket. High-priority tickets receive quick responses, while lower-priority ones might take two to three days. For Premium Analytics, I mostly dealt with lower-priority tickets.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I used Meraki as an alternative, but I don't have extensive expertise in it. Compared to Meraki, Juniper Mist provides more granular details, but Meraki has a superior UI and usability.

How was the initial setup?

The first setup was tough due to the early stage of Juniper Mist, with unclear documentation. It took about 48 to 72 hours to access and gather the exact data customers requested.

What about the implementation team?

Deployment was handled internally without third-party help. For generating comprehensive customer-specific reports when Premium Analytics could not provide them, I reached out to Juniper for support.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing for Juniper Mist is moderate. It is neither high nor low, making it affordable for customers who require the product.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I evaluated Meraki as an alternative to Juniper Mist Premium Analytics.

What other advice do I have?

For those considering Juniper Mist Premium Analytics, evaluate what data you need before choosing it, as it's an additional cost. For any new users, it's crucial to think about the types of data they want to obtain and design accordingly to generate meaningful reports. I would rate the overall solution as eight out of ten.
