Automation capabilities enhance cost-saving and scaling efforts
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable features of Nerdio are its automation capabilities, specifically the autoscale and auto-heal functionalities."
  • "The customer service from Nerdio is excellent, and I even know the CEO personally and have a positive experience, rating it nine out of ten."
  • "The auto-heal functionality needs improvement."
  • "The auto-heal functionality needs improvement. Currently, the feature is limited because it only allows one heal condition and doesn't support multiple triggers."

What is our primary use case?

We use Nerdio primarily for cost-saving and scaling purposes. Additionally, we use it internally within our organization.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable features of Nerdio are its automation capabilities, specifically the autoscale and auto-heal functionalities. Although auto-heal is not yet fully functional, it still contributes to automating many tasks. The autoscale feature is highly beneficial, and I have found the automation aspects to be one of the reasons Nerdio is particularly useful.

What needs improvement?

The auto-heal functionality needs improvement. Currently, the feature is limited because it only allows one heal condition and doesn't support multiple triggers. The capability to use different conditions, like the presence of online users during a failed installation, is missing. The current state makes it less useful, but I have even submitted a feature request for a better solution.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Nerdio for less than a year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution performs pretty well, and I haven't encountered significant stability issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Nerdio performs well in terms of scalability, and it includes AI features that assist with scaling.

How are customer service and support?

The customer service from Nerdio is excellent. I even know the CEO personally and have a positive experience, rating it nine out of ten.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The deployment is relatively simple if I stick with the basics, however, it can be more complex if I focus on security. It requires Enterprise Admin rights for installation.

What about the implementation team?

In terms of deployment, it involved two engineers from our team.

What was our ROI?

I believe the ROI is more than 30%. We get more value per user than we invest.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Pricing is reasonable, and although everything seems expensive, Nerdio is cost-effective because we pay per user, but we save much more per user.

What other advice do I have?

I rate the overall solution nine out of ten.

Most of our work with Nerdio is automated, and while we have the option for custom imaging, we prefer to avoid it. This flexibility is advantageous since automation doesn't cover everything.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
