I use the solution to get remote access to our labs.
The most valuable feature of the solution is its ease of use. The tool's performance is okay.
The bandwidth is slow. Improvements are required in the area of scalability since it is an aspect of the tool where there are shortcomings.
I have experience with VNC Connect.
It is a stable solution. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a seven to eight out of ten.
The tool's scalability is bad. Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a two to three out of ten.
My company is big, and around 100 users use the tool on their systems.
I have not contacted technical support for the solution.
Occasionally, I use products from Microsoft Windows. We use VNC Connect for Linux solutions.
As the tool is easy to use, I recommend using VNC Connect for other people.
The product is easy to deploy. Managing the tool is not so easy.
The solution can be deployed by myself.
I use the tool's free version.
There are no specific challenges I faced while using the product.
I haven't used the solution to support any AI-driven projects.
In our company, we need to have remote access to our labs because if not, people have to move to the laboratory, and we will spend a lot of time working.
I don't know the features of VNC Connect that improved our company's support capabilities.
I rate the tool a six out of ten.
I am a sysadmin for a company. I help manage 25 users, their laptops, and other equipment.
The product makes my life easier by providing rapid access to the users’ machines when I need to do maintenance or troubleshooting.
RealVNC is the primary method of remote access that we use. The product’s ease of use and security are valuable. The security architecture meets our minimum requirements.
We've been trying to implement single sign-on for more than a year and keep running into roadblocks. Ease of access is a bit of a challenge. We can't get the single sign-on feature to work, which to us is a security issue as much as it is a convenience issue. The solution must provide more ability to scan the status of the workstation that we're interfacing with and pull stats on the configuration of the machine.
I have been using the solution for more than ten years. I am using the latest version of the solution.
One of the primary reasons we keep using the tool is because it is fairly stable. It's unusual for us to have any issues with stability.
We have 25 users, including project managers, engineers, and technicians. If we hire more people, we might increase the usage. However, we don't typically hire many people at a time. It's usually one or two people at a time.
Customer support must be improved. I've had a ticket open for three weeks, and the support team has yet to respond to our request.
Negative
The initial setup is pretty straightforward for a machine we've previously set up. We have not set up a machine remotely, though. The only challenge with deployment is that I have to access the machines physically. I can't remotely configure a machine for RealVNC.
I do all the deployment. I'm the sysadmin for the company.
The tool is not cheap. However, as long as the product keeps doing its job and we don't have any issues with it, the pricing is not an issue.
We also use a backup solution in our organization. VNC Connect is easier to implement than our backup solution. All of my users are remote. I do not have physical access to any of those machines. I use these tools because I must have remote access to the machines. I can't do my job if I don't have remote access.
Other than convenience factors, for the most part, the tool does what we need. There are features that would be nice to have, but they are a little bit beyond the scope of a VNC-type application. The tool must provide more integration to enable configuration and compliance. I maintain the solution. The maintenance is not complicated.
The product provides access to a single workstation. It doesn’t broadcast to push out updates. We do not incorporate AI into our workflow. VNC Connect does what we need, and it lets me get down with my job. I don't know of any other tools with similar capabilities that are any cheaper.
I will recommend the solution to others, but it is not inexpensive. It may not be the right tool for some applications. However, it is the right tool for our environment and our application. Technically, I rate the product a nine or ten out of ten. Since we are facing some challenges with support, I rate the product a seven out of ten.
