Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The data discovery, data classification, and CSPM features are most valuable.""I like how they model the data. They find data in different places that we didn't know, and they can give us a good idea if it's sensitive or not. They understand whether or not something is in the right region because, with the cloud posture management tool, we could see certain things in the infrastructure, but the way they dig into the data is what we like."

"Imperva's most valuable features are ease of use and log correlation. I also like the ability to trace activity from the host machine to the server access, the user details, and the exact query that they executed. If a database administrator or application process executes a query on the database, people know exactly what was executed, including all the variables.""It has a lot of different components that cover the needs of our customers.""The discovery module provides good visibility.""We use it for database security, vulnerability analysis, discovery, and handling requests from applications and users.""Ability to send event monitoring and administrative activities.""They have very good documentation and knowledgebase resources that add to the depth of their support.""This is a stable product.""As we are very sensitive to financial impacts, this product provides great protection for our organization."

Cons
"As a startup company, there is a long way for them to go in terms of scalability.""They need to add a few things in the UI from an enterprise perspective. It's more along the lines of being able to self-service, have integrations, build alerts, and things like that. Outside of that, they work with us on the API and getting alerts into our SIEM and things like that. There's always a way to do something, and they're always available, which is nice."

More Cyera Cons →

"I'd like to see some sort of solution for storage.""They can maybe look at its pricing model. Its pricing could be cheaper for the African countries or developing economies.""Its reporting can be improved. The reporting feature is currently not good enough for our clients.""It would be better to update the solution by using a GUI that guides me, rather than through a CLI.""I have worked with IBM before, and I prefer its ease of deployment and management. Imperva SecureSphere Database Security has tricky deployment, whereas IBM's deployment is straightforward because of the UI.""Sometimes the reports are cumbersome, and you have to drill down to get more information.""Integration with other databases or third-party products would be useful.""Improvements can be made in data enrichment and enhancing the GUI (Graphical User Interface) for a better user experience."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "I don't know how much exactly it costs, but I know that it's a yearly thing. It's something that will cost money for any company because they're storing all this information. They're doing all this machine learning, and there are a lot of services on their backend that they got to pay for. I'm sure it gets translated back to the customers unless you have everything completely on-prem. If you're not doing much in the cloud, then I could see how it'd be cheaper, but if you have anything that's cloud-hosted and does all the work for you, there's going to be a cost associated with it."
  • "Compared to the competitors, they are very reasonable."

  • "The cost of support for this solution is very expensive."
  • "Licensing fees are on a yearly basis, and it is a good value for the money."
  • "There is an annual licensing fee for upgrading the device."
  • "Pricing is low and scalable to add features and volume."
  • "The pricing over-all depends on the entry level. For example, if support and maintenance are about $20,000 - $25,000, the initial cost can be five times more. It is less expensive for the company to maintain the client than to make the deployment."
  • "We have all the licenses, which we pay for annually. The price is a little high, but the product is good."
  • "They have introduced new price models, which makes the product more affordable now."
  • "The price is very high but compared to the price of the overall solution, then I think it's a good deal because the solution itself is great."
