Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The biggest benefit has been that it has improved communication between my endpoints in the data center.""The product works very well with our virtual environment.""The security component is its most valuable feature.""The stability is perfect. We have had no problems with Cisco ACI.""The most valuable feature is programmability, where we can manage a network via APIs and software, as opposed to having to manage complex hardware.""Micro-segmentation is the solution’s most valuable feature.""We had different networks and combined them with ACI so we could have the control of one controller-based network. Also, everything is combined now.""The stability is quite good."

More Cisco ACI Pros →

"The most valuable feature of the solution is its storyline, which helps trace an event back to its source, like an email or someone clicking on a link.""The offensive security where they do a fix is valuable. They go to a misconfiguration and provide detailed alerts on what could be there. They also provide a remediation feature where if we give the permission, they can also go and fix the issue.""Cloud Native Security helps us discover vulnerabilities in a cloud environment like open ports that allow people to attack our environment. If someone unintentionally opens a port, we are exposed. Cloud Native Security alerts us so we can remediate the problem. We can also automate it so that Cloud Native Security will fix it.""The solution helped free other staff to work on other projects or other tasks. We basically just had to do a bunch of upfront configuring. With it, we do not have to spend as much time in the console.""The visibility is the best part of the solution.""It's positively affected the communication between cloud security, application developers, and AppSec teams.""Cloud Native Security's best feature is its ability to identify hard-coded secrets during pull request reviews.""The dashboard gives me an overview of all the things happening in the product, making it one of the tool's best features."

Cons
"It is more about resolving bugs early on in the code. Otherwise, as the product gets more mature and those bugs get discovered sometimes by the customer, then Cisco will resolve them.""Cisco SDN will only work with its own devices, so that's a downside.""The initial set up was complex. We had to deploy 120 leads. Migrating from Legacy Cisco network to ACI was complex.""It would be good if Cisco ACI had some cross-domain orchestrator that could rule all the pillars in the customer network or interconnect more easily with the compass environment.""The ability for us to figure out the traffic flows, to enable some of the more segmentation parts of it, is really tough with what is built into ACI.""My complaint about this is: We purchased the ACI gear, but to do monitoring, to do stats, to do telemetry statistics, etc. we have to purchase another product from Cisco.""It would be nice if I could specify network-centric in my design, and the system would organize and set itself up in that way.""It needs to be able to function on the cloud."

More Cisco ACI Cons →

"The cost has the potential for improvement.""PingSafe can improve by eliminating 100 percent of the false positives.""We use PingSafe and also SentinelOne. If PingSafe integrated some of the endpoint security features of SentinelOne, it would be the perfect one-stop solution for everything. We wouldn't need to switch between the products. At my organization, I am responsible for endpoint security and vulnerability management. Integrating both functions into one application would be ideal because I could see all the alerts, heat maps, and reports in one console.""Cloud Native Security's reporting could be better. We are unable to see which images are impacted. Several thousand images have been deployed, so if we can see some application-specific information in the dashboard, we can directly send that report to the team that owns the application. We'd also like the option to download the report from the portal instead of waiting for the report to be sent to our email.""While it is good, I think the solution's console could be improved.""We are experiencing problems with Cloud Native Security reporting.""Currently, we would have to export our vulnerability report to an .xlsx file, and review it in an Excel spreadsheet, and then we sort of compile a list from there. It would be cool if there was a way to actually toggle multiple applications for review and then see those file paths on multiple users rather than only one user at a time or only one application at a time.""There should be more documentation about the product."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The pricing is pretty good for new technology."
  • "It saves time and resources."
  • "The price could be improved. It is expensive, but then again, it is Cisco. The price is worth what you pay for."
  • "We have seen time improvement using the product."
  • "The thing that I like the most from Cisco is the support and all the documentation that they have. We do have to pay for it though."
  • "We bought a package for hardware, software, and support. At that time, Cisco was simply selling that package to distributors, then we opted for it directly."
  • "We used Cisco Professional Services for the deployment. They were outstanding, but very expensive."
  • "Price is always an issue."

  • "As a partner, we receive a discount on the licenses."
  • "It's a fair price for what you get. We are happy with the price as it stands."
  • "I wasn't sure what to expect from the pricing, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was a little less than I thought."
  • "Singularity Cloud Workload Security's pricing is good."
  • "Singularity Cloud Workload Security's licensing and price were cheaper than the other solutions we looked at."
  • "I understand that SentinelOne is a market leader, but the bill we received was astronomical."
  • "It's not expensive. The product is in its initial growth stages and appears more competitive compared to others. It comes in different variants, and I believe the enterprise version costs around $55 per user per year. I would rate it a five, somewhere fairly moderate."
  • "The pricing is fair. It is not inexpensive, and it is also not expensive. When managing a large organization, it is going to be costly, but it meets the business needs. In terms of what is out there on the market, it is fair and comparable to what I have seen, so I do not have any complaints about the cost"

    Overview
Cisco Application-Centric Infrastructure (ACI) reduces TCO, automates IT tasks, and accelerates data center application deployments. It accomplishes this using a business-relevant Software Defined Networking (SDN) policy model across networks, servers, storage, security, and services.

Singularity Cloud Security is SentinelOne’s comprehensive, cloud-native application protection platform (CNAPP). It combines the best of agentless insights with AI-powered threat protection, to secure and protect your multi-cloud infrastructure, services, and containers from build time to runtime. SentinelOne’s CNAPP applies an attacker’s mindset to help security practitioners better prioritize their  remediation tasks with evidence-backed Verified Exploit Paths™. The efficient and scalable runtime protection, proven over 5 years and trusted by many of the world’s leading cloud enterprises, harnesses local, autonomous AI engines to detect and thwart runtime threats in real-time. CNAPP data and workload telemetry is recorded to SentinelOne’s unified security lake, for easy access and investigation.

Singularity Cloud Security includes both agentless and AI-powered cloud security controls, which represent two halves of our strategy to keep public cloud and container environments safe. Radically reduce your cloud attack surface with Singularity Cloud Native Security, formerly PingSafe, with agentless insights and evidence-based prioritization; protect runtime compute and container with Singularity Cloud Workload Security, SentinelOne’s real-time CWPP, with AI-powered machine-speed blocking of threats.
