Easy to set up with helpful antivirus and firewall capabilities
There are some general areas and features that could be improved in the next version of the Check Point Capsule software. Cloud security could add more advanced features for apps and services. Mobile device management would improve the administration and make it more flexible and dynamic. They need to improve integration with cloud SIEMS. Finally, they must improve the technical support process. When requesting it for a specific case, they do not coordinate a call in a good amount of time. They must also improve the SLA and the escalation of engineers

Unified sign-on has simplified password management and now secures our mobile workforce
The ability to have a single password for the local device and the same password for the IDP is part of our security requirements. Jamf Connect integrates with multi-factor authentication from any IDP and facilitates initial device enrollment. It ensures that when a new user sets up the device, they sign in with their IDP username and password, which then creates the profile on the device. Furthermore, Jamf Connect is now integrated into Jamf Self Service Plus, providing a single dashboard for user password management and allowing users to sync and change their passwords. Additionally, Jamf Connect enhances security by offering two-factor authentication and permitting users to manage or seek help through support features directly within the app.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It is very simple to install and use."
"The antivirus is great since it helps us with the real-time protection of all devices."
"We're taking advantage of the computing power that the cloud has made."
"Check Point Capsule can use SSO so that we can use a single identity for all our users and tasks in the organization."
"It came to allow us to have that balance, that balance between the productivity of the collaborators and the security of the data in use quickly and easily without becoming invasive to the users."
"For employees in some sectors, we were able to stop providing them with laptops because they could do everything with a smartphone or tablet."
"By configuring the solution, we could give access to our managers, users, sales area, executives, et cetera, who required a solution that complied with security standards and policies in a unified way on laptops inside and outside the company - thus always protecting the perimeter area while giving access to users who are not within the perimeter."
"The most valuable feature is ease of access. It's convenient to do things like resetting passwords. Previously, users were bound to their domain. We had to bind the user to the domain and log them in through the AD. Now, using Jamf Connect, we don't face any of these challenges. Resetting passwords is hassle-free so we can regularly rotate passwords according to best practices."
"It has definitely reduced the IT support burden, as 31% of Mac tickets are password-related, costing an average of 70 or 80 dollars for just one ticket, and that has been drastically reduced with the automation of these tasks through Jamf Connect."
"I would rate the product's scalability an eight out of ten."
"The solution is scalable."
"Jamf Connect has quite a nice interface, and the password synchronization and SSO elements are particularly good."
"It is easy to integrate into any existing IT workflow."
"The most valuable feature is the synchronization of passwords with a local password, which works well."
"Jamf Connect is very simple for us to use, and it is oriented towards productivity."

Cons

"Among the features that I would have liked to see in its beginnings and in use of the solution is the ability to integrate real-time analysis and emulation of the activities that a user has when being attacked."
"Check Point has already been making several changes to Check Point Capsule and has transformed it into Check Point Harmony where it is a tool that has connections with their cloud and has become even more robust."
"There should be more clarity when it comes to licensing because it is difficult to understand."
"We need to understand that the solution has been improving but also has a life cycle that is already being changed or modified so that the brand no longer supports the solution and, where appropriate, reaches in the direction of new processes, new equipment, and new solutions."
"Cloud security could add more advanced features for apps and services."
"Jamf's support could be improved."
"User training has room for improvement. This improvement would benefit from more documentation, and I would appreciate seeing more automation pieces as well."
"The main use case for Jamf Connect was to synchronize local accounts with the identity provider, like Entra. However, due to some limitations with the enrollment sequence and user limitations, we decided to discontinue using it."
"I see a potential area of improvement for Jamf Connect from the commercial side, not from the technical side, because technically we do not have any issues."
"We've had some issues when users restart their devices because the device asks for credentials afterward. Jamf Connect asks for a username, password, and MFA."
"Jamf Connect is beginning to implement Multi-Factor Authentication for offline authentication, but the setup documentation is insufficient."
"There is room for improvement with Jamf Connect in reducing its cost and overcoming limitations during pre-stage enrollment, which prevent it from creating MDM-capable users."
"The solution’s technical support is bad and should be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The costs and licensing methods are not clear to me also because we purchased a maxi package that already included the option of using this product."
"The solution's price is reasonable."
"I rate the cost as three out of ten, with ten being the highest."
"The pricing model could be improved, especially considering the availability of alternative MDM solutions like Kandji, which offers similar features for free or at a lower cost."
"It's relatively inexpensive."
"The pricing is definitely on the higher side."
"The pricing is good."
"Jamf Connect has a yearly licensing cost, which is expensive."
"We pay 2 dollars per device monthly. For the plus version, you have to pay 4 dollars per month. I think the product will give discounts based on the number of users and devices."
