Easy to manage and provides good endpoint encryption
Pros and Cons
  • "Microsoft BitLocker's most valuable feature is endpoint encryption, and it's quite easy to manage."
  • "The management of the product could be made a little easier."

What is our primary use case?

We use the solution to secure endpoints.

What is most valuable?

Microsoft BitLocker's most valuable feature is endpoint encryption, and it's quite easy to manage. Microsoft BitLocker's data protection is the most useful for mobile endpoints like laptops.

What needs improvement?

The management of the product could be made a little easier.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Microsoft BitLocker for 5-6 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate the solution ten out of ten for stability.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Around 50 users are using the solution in our organization.

I rate the solution’s scalability ten out of ten.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We didn't pay for additional licenses since the solution is built into Windows.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before choosing Microsoft BitLocker, we evaluated Trend Micro.

What other advice do I have?

I use the latest version of Microsoft BitLocker. We didn't have any specific incidents where we needed to use the solution's recovery process. However, if there's a problem unlocking devices, it's pretty simple to manage.

The solution is not complicated to manage. Microsoft BitLocker is transparent to end users, and they are unaware of its existence. It doesn't impact their performance in a measurable way, and we don't have any problems with it.

Microsoft BitLocker is a very useful tool for managing endpoints, especially mobile ones, and ensuring that data is not leaked. The solution's drives are integrated into the mobile workstation. We require one person as a backup to maintain the solution, which is not time-consuming. It just takes a few hours every month. I would recommend the solution to other users.

Overall, I rate Microsoft BitLocker ten out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

On-premises

Offers friendly integration features and is easy to use in general
Pros and Cons
  • "The product is easy to use."
  • "Sometimes, multiple updates and crashes happen in the tool, making it an area where improvements are required."

What is our primary use case?

My company has deployed a software system, and after its installation, it is working on our hardware and firewall.

What is most valuable?

Everything related to the product is perfect.

The most effective feature of the product revolves around the rules users can apply to it.

What needs improvement?

Sometimes, multiple updates and crashes happen in the tool, making it an area where improvements are required.

I would like to get less frequent updates on the product.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have experience with Sophos SafeGuard for more than eight months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is a stable solution. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Scalability-wise, I rate the solution an eight to nine out of ten.

More than 80 people in my company use the product. The people in my company don't directly work on the product since it is a tool that acts as a firewall to protect data and avoid intrusion attacks.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Before Sophos SafeGuard, my company used the support offered by a third party who had offered us the tool.

How was the initial setup?

The product's initial setup phase is not very complex. Users have to install it, apply the rules, along with the route systems, and look for network compatibility. There is a need to check the balance in the tool to ensure that if one link is down, the other should be up.

The product's deployment phase involves a PnP process. One needs to install it and apply the rules.

The solution is deployed on the cloud.

The solution can be deployed in a day since there are multiple steps.

What about the implementation team?

Earlier, when a third party was involved in the installation of the product, I learned how to apply the rules along with the other steps to install the tool. Presently, I deploy the product by myself.

What was our ROI?

My company has deployed the tool in its own territory, so it provides protection in our premises. The product acts as a firewall protecting the data of all the employees and systems.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I use the paid version of the product. There is a need to make annual payments towards the licensing charges attached to the product. The product is not expensive. I feel that the product's price is normal, meaning it is neither too high nor too low. There is no need to pay any additional costs apart from the normal charges attached to the product.

What other advice do I have?

The tool's cloud data protection is great since it manages everything and gives feedback. It also notifies users about any precautions or risks.

The product is easy to use.

I feel that there was no need to maintain it since I haven't seen any big issues with the product.

I have gone through the encryption and decryption process offered by the tool.

In terms of integration with the existing IT infrastructure, I feel the product is quite friendly.

The product offers great quality and security to use and manage. The tool is also very helpful and doesn't have any hard and fast rules, making it quite a friendly solution.

I rate the tool a nine out of ten.
