We performed a comparison between BDRSuite and Veeam Backup & Replication based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Backup and Recovery solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."We have seen ROI. The real return is when something bad happens. All the proof of concept work that we did, all the testing we did, it all panned out for us. We're already seeing a return on that."
"When you're looking at your dashboard, you can see all your active jobs. You can see exactly if they're successful or failed and you can actually drill down and see what caused the problem. The fact you can see that right away is nice."
"The most useful feature is that you can back up the virtual machines in different ways. You can back up from a vhost, and you can also back up from a Windows server. It doesn't matter what type of infrastructure or hypervisor is there. It's very flexible, which is its most useful feature for us."
"Moving to cloud backups eliminated the need for clients to change USB drives or worry about drives being stored offsite."
"It made it easy for us to handle the daily backup of endpoints."
"BDRSuite can help organizations save time and money by automating backup and recovery processes and reducing the need for manual intervention."
"The automated backup of multiple virtual machines. We can back up two hypervisors, one is Microsoft Hyper-V and the other one is VMware Hypervisor."
"We invest in the backup so the continuity of the data is not affected."
"The replication feature has proven to be the most valuable feature for us."
"Veeam Is very useful for most environments and can scale up in most environments - such as Amazon or Azure."
"Storage Snapshot is a good feature and very safe."
"Pricing is fairly reasonable and not overly expensive."
"Veeam Backup Replication is stable I have not had any problems."
"The solution works well in two different environments, whether it is on-premises, cloud, or a combination."
"Its backup capabilities in general are great."
"WAN Accelerator helps tremendously with replicating our data because we have a large chunk of data that gets replicated between our two facilities."
"In the beginning, when we had some hiccups, I would chalk that up more to a learning curve for the product."
"They said they can support Red Hat Virtualization and we assumed that they support any compatible system but we found we need to do a network backup or a network image, which is not what it said on their website. I have had many discussions with them about where this component is. Initially, I was searching for a component which would back up Red Hat Virtualization. They said they support this in the same way they support Hyper-V and VMware. I haven't found the feature in their portal or in any of their software. They haven't made a special agent for it, in the way they did for Hyper-V."
"I have seen that the BDRSuite user interface can be less intuitive and more challenging to navigate compared to other similar products."
"Vembu BDR currently supports backups of O365, although it does not currently have an email archiving function to the O365 backups."
"They need to improve their marketing because not many people are aware of it. People ask me what is Vembu, and I have to explain to them it is a good tool for backup and other things."
"We are still exploring its features, but we want to see more features that we desire over time."
"There was one issue though with the hardware IDs. When I went to a different version of Hyper-V, the hardware IDs weren't restored and the machine got two new IDs. The preliminary unique IDs weren't restored, so I had to reactivate programs."
"The reports are at a basic level and there is room for improvement there. It only has historical reports and VM backup job-level reports."
"Pricing can be improved."
"The patching can be quite difficult at times."
"The deduplication feature could be improved by changing to global deduplication."
"It's a great product, but only if you have everything virtualized."
"They can improve the features and Veeam Enterprise Manager. The interface and features are kind of limited. It would be good if they can provide more features and a better interface. For example, if I want to provide certain users with the privilege to back up and restore and do day-to-day tasks, I cannot do it in the current version. It is like you either give everything to everyone or no user can have access to anything. In version 9, a lot of features were missing, and it wasn't clear. Version 10 is easier from the communication perspective, and the disk backup option is very clear."
"The tech support could be better."
"The solution needs more detailed reporting."
"The orchestration feature can be improved. They can improve the virtual machine orchestration to make it similar to VMware. They can also provide an option to automate the backup and recovery and schedule a backup."
