The caching capabilities are somewhat limited. This is more on the developer-oriented capabilities. At this point, we aren't sure of what else could be improved since we are migrating some pieces of code that are really legacy and really difficult to model as a standard REST API. We are not sure in which areas Apigee is going to fall short....
