We performed a comparison between CloudBolt and VMware Aria Operations based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Cloud Management solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."Role-based access control and application blueprinting."
"The solution's biggest advantage is flexibility"
"Hybrid cloud platform for VM and app deployment and management, with very good stability. It's customizable, easy to set up, and can be deployed within half an hour."
"The initial deployment was super easy."
"I find the self-service features valuable."
"Avoiding problems in the monitoring area is our strength. We use real-time monitoring models and real-time monitoring to do this. We also provide other capabilities, such as seeing changes in the environment."
"One of the most valuable features is the ability to compare between AWS/Azure and the local cloud. When customers deploy something on the local cloud, with the same configuration that would apply to AWS or Azure, we can calculate the estimated cost difference between the local cloud and the public cloud. We do this kind of analysis for optimization and it is one of the best features of vROps."
"From an admin and operations perspective, the solution is intuitive and user-friendly."
"Scalability is relatively simple. You just spin up a new appliance and you either add it to an existing vROps manager or you can create a new environment. You can forward statistics. If I have multiple data centers, I can spin up remote nodes and send our information back to our primary one."
"It is stable. I don't have any problems with this product and upgrades are very easy because it's just click two buttons and next, next, next, finish."
"It allows me to see how my entire infrastructure is performing in a simplified manner."
"The automation brings insight into how we will grow. I can look at it, then make my recommendations on what equipment we need to do for the next fiscal year."
"The reports: Print any kind of reports or generate them, and send them to somebody if they say my VM is going very slow."
"The management of SaaS must be improved."
"The area of integrating on-prem and cloud needs improvement."
"The solution is not easy to use. It's not intuitive enough to click anywhere in the solution and make it work."
"Could increase the number of integrations and add more out-of-the-box work flows."
"The scheduling feature of CloudBolt needs improvement because sometimes, it doesn't work."
"There were early kinks in the some of the virtual appliances as we rolled them out."
"compare-to-competition; We had a lot of homegrown solutions and different products. We have Splunk, we're using Tableau, different reporting services that were based on gathering our own data, power CLI scripts, going out and individually running things against vCenters, pulling them back in, and then dumping them into something centrally that we could view for capacity. But it really was point-in-time, it wasn't real-time, it wasn't something that could even be predictive for us. We would look at it and say, "Well, that looked different last month so let me go look and see why," and then it was a lot more time-consuming to go about that method. It was more of a manual method. vROps is a tool that gathers that data every five minutes, or whatever the time duration is that you have set for collections. We're more up to the minute, more quick to respond. I think it's a smarter product than homegrown stuff. That's why we moved away from the homegrown stuff."
"It is user-friendly although there's always room for improvement. In the beginning, it was about figuring out where you can find what, but once you know it, it becomes easier to navigate."
"If I had a container solution deployed on top of a VMware infrastructure, or outside as well, it would be really helpful."
"While the initial setup was somewhat straightforward, there is some complexity. Going forward, I would like there to be more clarity in the process. Because to complete the setup process, our team had to open up a case with the technical support, and they had to guide us through the process."
"When it comes to policies, they need to fine tune things to make it easier. It is a bit difficult setting up policies."
"I'd like to see a little more training, free training on the VMware site; to get some more information within the VMware community. There's quite a bit of stuff out there but getting that access can be daunting sometimes."
"The customization of reports isn't as great as I would like to see it. There are some canned ones."
