We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"I like Alteryx Designer's drag-and-drop feature, where you drag a component, configure it and quickly run it.""The product is very stable. The performance is reliable.""The features I found most valuable are the preparation features – the Join and the Transform.""Alteryx Designer is easier to use for machine learning models. However, I am not very good at Python scripts which you will need to make the machine learning scripts.""One of the things I like about Alteryx Designer is how easy it is to connect numerous data inputs, including API connectors. This helps tremendously in reducing the time required to extract data from systems like SAP that don't have straightforward connectivity options.""I have been using Alteryx Designer only for data modeling and data structuring.""The most valuable feature of Alteryx Designer is its ability to select all the inputs and formulas.""When you open a raw Excel file, it can be hard to look at everything in detail. Alteryx makes it much easier to go through the data, summarize it, and use different tools for analysis."

"The CDC and the flexibility to use QVD as a source are the most valuable features of Qlik Replicate.""The most useful functions of Qlik Replicate are the data manipulation to transformations.""It's very user-friendly when it comes to settings and configuration. It also offers very detailed logging about warnings and errors.""The main valuable feature is its real-time change data capture (CDC) capabilities, which process data with minimal latency. There is not much delay. It also performs well with batch-wise data applications.""From a technical perspective, this is an excellent product.""Great with replicating and updating records.""Support has been great.""It enables us to transform data at the latest stage rather than in ETL loads, so it's more ELT which is one of the advantages. It is also in near real-time, which brings significant advantage for our embedded analytics approach."

Cons
"It would be simpler if they provided a component where you could simply enter some parameters and see the results.""If the price were reduced then it would be more competitive.""When it comes to the pivoting part, the drill-through option is not there in Alteryx.""Its price can be improved. It is too expensive for our country. Because of its high price, we can't sell Alteryx Designer in this region. We used to be their reseller partner. There is also an additional cost for automating the data and running the flows, which makes it even more expensive. It will be very good if they can let users automate the data for free. Other solutions like Tableau provide this feature for free.""We need more documentation.""Based on my experience, the tool could be improved by providing sample reports or pre-configured workflows tailored to specific industries, like finance. It needs to integrate an AI chatbot as well.""Alteryx Designer's cost should be improved.""Alteryx could move faster to create a cloud equivalent of the desktop version of Designer."

"This product could be improved by providing more insight regarding errors. One of our customers that uses Qlik Replicate has had an issue. We tried to debug it, but we could not trace the error message. The infrastructure site should give us more insight about errors. Qlik Replicate is not a business solution, it's an IT solution. The reporting tools and bug site should be improved.""It would be better if the solution’s pricing were more obvious.""It's not possible to replicate the QVC files in data analytics.""Support-wise, this solution is in need of improvement.""The solution's flexibility to work with APIs should also be improved since it is very weak in working with APIs.""The UI and data version control can be improved.""In various scenarios, an important consideration is when we encounter issues and Qlik Replicate suggests reloading a specific table. If we face any problems or encounter errors with that table, it becomes necessary to make a change in Qlik Replicate. Performing a full reload every time is not feasible or practical. Instead, we should identify the specific issues and address them without repeating the entire reloading process. Based on this approach, we can investigate and resolve the problem by performing targeted loads from the source itself. This change aligns with my perspective and is something I would like to implement.""In the next release, I would like to see closer integration with data catalyst."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It is too expensive for our country. We are a small country, so it is too difficult to sell this solution. With Alteryx Designer, if you want to automate the data and run the flows, you have to pay more money. We were trying to automate the flows, and we found out that people have to pay 600 more for this feature, which makes it even more expensive. We are a partner for Tableau, and we are working with Tableau Prep, which is like a mini Alteryx. In Tableau Prep, you can drag and drop and make new connections with the different data sources. You can make all the connections. You can also publish a source. You don't have to pay more money with Tableau. You pay like $5 per user per month to access it."
  • "Alteryx is a little bit expensive compared to competing solutions."
  • "Alteryx Designer is an expensive solution."
  • "I rate Alteryx Designer a six out of ten for pricing."
  • "The licenses are expensive, making it difficult to consider acquiring additional licenses to the existing ones."
  • "Each license is something like $4,000."
  • "I rate the price of Alteryx Designer as a five on a scale of one to ten, where one is extremely expensive, and ten is a highly cheap product."
  • "I rate the price of Alteryx Designer a ten on a scale of one to ten, where one is low price and ten is high price."

  • "Qlik Replicate is not expensive, compared to GoldenGate."
  • "Pricing for this solution is very reasonable."
  • "Overall, Qlik is an expensive solution. You need to pay for all additional features that you would like to use."
  • "On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive, I rate Qlik Replicate's pricing a nine out of ten."
  • "Unlike Azure, where you pay based on consumption, Qlik Replicate seems to charge per endpoint."
