Hmmm. From an MPLS perspective, I believe SD-WAN is less expensive. However, the cost of licensing renewal to get some features it brings make is high compared to other products in the industry performing the same function.

The introduction of Cisco umbrella into our infrastructure was a tremendous change. It has helped to protect the infrastructure better. Because every traffic exiting to the internet is now being filtered. Also combined with Cisco WSA for web proxy, it is a good one.

We use the solution basically for web filtering. Being an organization distributed across multiple locations, DNS security is handled centrally with the help of a Cisco Umbrella.  

My organization has been using the solution for over a year now. I think it is a fantastic solution. The selling point was the DNS functionality. I will rate it 8 of 10.
