The pricing is very competitive, especially because Qualys is integrated and does vulnerability management and remediation patching in one solution, so there's no need for a separate patching solution. You can also get very granular with the amount of IP addresses you can cover. You can go from as few as 16 IP addresses to many more. And the Qualys team is also willing to work with organizations to make the solution make commercial sense. The prices are fixed. We have a yearly subscription model based on the number of IP addresses we’re scanning.

The price is very high and escalates quickly based on the number of appliances you need.

The price is very reasonable, so you can definitely go with all the endpoints it offers.

In Nigerian Naira, we spend about roughly four to five million to use this solution and this is expensive compared to solutions like Nessus.

It's very expensive, especially if you want to use multiple modules of Qualys.

We pay an annual licensing fee. Prices do vary. If it is for a standard solution, they are the best. If a company goes for some advanced solutions, like web scanning, it does become pricey. However, the basic solution is good. It's just the advanced solutions that drive up the price.

I believe the annual cost is approximately $40 per asset in VMDR, although it also depends on the circumstances. It contains all the features one needs although if you need synchronization with ServiceNow and CMDB, there is an additional cost.

It is a high cost product. Compared to the other solutions, it is around 15 to 20% higher in cost. Qualys VMDR has multiple features in addition to vulnerability management and there is an additional cost for these features.

I’m not clear on the pricing. We don't use it as an in-house tool, and we use it more as a managed service provider. We provide information security consulting services for many companies. When they don't have vulnerability management, we'll offer to support Qualys for them. We've got the MSP platform, and so it's not the typical pricing structure or platform. Therefore, I can’t speak to the exact pricing or typical licensing.

Qualys is a pay-as-you-go model, so there's flexibility to the pricing.

Qualys VM is quite expensive. It's a subscription-based license, and it's yearly. Right now, it's open for me, and I don't have any limitations or caps on the licenses. They are seeing if the product is viable for 4500 users. I can add as much as I want, and at the end of the subscription, they'll let me know how many licenses were actually used and bill me accordingly. On a scale from one to five, I would give their pricing a three. It's still expensive.

There is a license for the use of this solution. We pay annually instead of monthly to receive a better discount on the price.

Qualys VM is better suited for medium to large companies because the price can be too much for smaller customers. With the SaaS version, you're buying a license for use per asset, so the price can differ, and there are additional fees for features like patch management and EDR policy compliance.

I used to work there, so I never paid for the product. As an employee, we get a lifetime license for personal use, and that's what I'm using. It is a comprehensive platform, so there is a lot more to it. There could be other solutions that are probably a little bit cheaper, but it depends on what people need. Different people have different needs. It offers many things on the same platform. If you add all the things up, it should be cheaper, but I have not done any analysis specifically.

We pay a yearly fee for a license. They have very good discounts. That's why the price is okay for us. Generally, if we talk about the price without discounts, I do see a big peak in vulnerability management solutions licenses. It is not only Qualys. All the vendors peaked at some point. We do see over $100,000 in terms of price, for mid-size programs. You likely will pay more than $100,000 without any discount. It is a bit pricey. There's room to improve, however, I believe they're managing things with discount offerings. I'm saying this not only for Qualys. All the vulnerability management solutions do the same thing price-wise.

The price of Qualys for us is better than Tenable, although that is only because we are partners. The retail price of Qualys is higher than that of tenable. The pricing and licensing for Qualys could be improved.

It is different for every company, but for us, it's every three years. I will know more about the pricing in September because we are going to be looking at our pricing again. We get a large volume discount, which is good.
