There are better solutions on the market with this product currently sitting in the mid-range. From a collaborative point of view, there are numerous areas for improvement, in particular the interface. GoToMeeting seems stuck in what video conferencing and collaboration were about seven to eight years ago and competitors have overtaken it. I rate this solution five out of 10.

We tend to use the solution for smaller connections, although there may be many people on each side. We haven't tried to use it when a large number of people have tried to connect at once. That said, I understand that it is quite scalable. I'd likely recommend Microsoft Teams to people, although it's my understanding that it is a bit expensive. I'd rate this solution seven out of ten.

I rate GoToMeeting nine out of 10. My advice to future GoToMeeting users is to spend time on training. We held an instructor class in which admin staff would act as presenters. What helped us was to make the devices for each presenter, so all you had to do is scroll to that meeting and select it, and you're off and running. Training non-technical staff should be the priority. Having a dedicated person to keep the system up and running would be number two.

We are just a customer and an end-user. We don't have any business relationship with the company. I'd rate the product nine out of ten.

We're always on the latest version of the solution right now. I can't speak to the exact version number. I'd advise potential new users to try it and see if the features that are supported by GoToMeeting are enough for them. They may expect some features which are not available in GoToMeeting. However, those features may be available in Cisco WebEx, for example, or some other solution. I'd rate the solution at an eight out of ten. I'd recommend the solution to others.

We were customers and end-users. We did not have a professional relationship with GoToMeeting. It's a very tough space now. Microsoft has its own tool now (Microsoft Teams) and most organizations are on Office 365 so they are getting Teams by default. I'd rate the solution at an eight out of ten.

I use the solution every day, two or three times a day. We also use GoToWebinar as well, which is their webinar product. GTM has two versions available. One is called New GoToMeeting, and one is called Classic. I prefer Classic. When I'm doing PowerPoint and Google Docs, and when we're using faces and cameras, the new version looks a lot like Zoom. The others are where it's just a bunch of faces or people on their cameras. As an aside, when I use the new version, I have to use Windows 10. That's because my Windows 10 machine has a camera, and my Windows 7 machine does not have a camera. So that's a big distinction between the two versions for me. I'd advise new users that they need to figure out what it is that they're going to do with it. If they're looking for just talking heads and cameras, then they should use the new version. If they're doing more sharing of documents then they should use the Classic version. I'd rate the solution nine out of ten.

I would rate it a nine out of ten. I would like for them to incorporate a whiteboard feature. With Teams, while doing a presentation, and while discussing with clients, sometimes we do use that option. And on Teams I can see that this feature is there.

GoToMeeting does simple video conferencing and has meetings set in two or three conferencing groups. Those types of meetings go perfectly fine. But if somebody is planning to intensively use it daily and their user requirement is a lot more than what I've experienced, I would suggest do a trial for a month or so and make the most out of it in order to see what the traffic is like and how it behaves in the network. Check to see if you have any issues in the chat. I think it all depends on how stable your link is and how you traffic-shape your policies in your Firewall. I think that it also plays a major role in how other application works. I would rate GoToMeeting a seven out of ten. Not a ten because there is always room for improvement. In the next release, I would like for it to incorporate file transfers more efficiently from one computer to another when we covert things and send them out. I'm not sure if it's capable of that. I would like it to be able to do screen recording. You can do a voice recording of the presentation but not sure if could do a screen recording. It would be helpful during or when conducting a training.

I would rate it an eight out of ten. To make it a ten it should be able to have more participants. The advice I would give to someone considering this solution is to be sure that you have good network quality.

I'd recommend it. I have no issues with the performance and no issues with the way it works. It is a better option from a security perspective with what's going on with Zoom. I would definitely recommend it. I would rate it an eight out of ten. There's always room for improvement.

My advice to someone implementing this solution is to have a good camera and microphone. I would recommend Zoom as opposed to GoToMeeting. Zoom has a new feature that offers the ability to change the background. You can hide what's behind your chair. It's useful to have the ability to change the background of your video. Zoom has the ability to change your background to whatever you want, even the view, and in GoToMeeting, you don't have that option at all. It seems trivial but during meetings, some of my technicians don't want to turn on the camera because they don't want what's behind them to show. I would rate GoToMeeting an eight out of ten.
