We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Redwood has a great feature where it logs every transaction. So, at any point, we can see every step taken for each transaction. It creates an audit trail of the entire process execution. It is a really good feature. This eliminates the need for extra coding or report generation. The audit report is readily available within the tool itself.""So the best thing is ease of use.""The out-of-the-box finance modules within the Redwood Finance framework help to speed up the process, versus designing and writing generic BOT code."

"The inbuilt RE Framework makes development easier and fast.""The UI Explorer in the UiPath Studio is valuable. We can get a unique and dynamic selector for every element in the UI, which is helpful for me in finding out a particular UI element. Most of my automations have had UI interactions. So, I found it the most helpful feature.""The IDP feature is most valuable in UiPath because there are a lot of invoices and bills in every company. If they want to extract from a scanned document, it is very useful.""The most valuable feature of UiPath is its usability. It's very easy to understand.""UiPath has saved our staff time. Using the automation of UiPath, it triggers an email or notification for a process that we have created. This keeps us informed at all times. However, if we don't use it, content may get missed and we would lose a lot of opportunities.""UiPath has helped to make all of the internal business processes lighter, enabling my company to save costs in time and speed for all of them.""The way they stay on top of Orchestrator is really helpful because that has been the platform that controls everything. The dedication to that is pretty helpful. Every time there's a new release, it seems there are more and more features. It's also not hard to learn.""With UiPath, we can automate any module, whether it is a desktop application, web application, or native application."

Cons
"The room for balancing improvement lies in automation enhancement with respect to the feature areas, considering dealing directly with Excel and reviewing it to do some additional stuff for it in the end system so that reading the right thing, picking up the values, and everything.""would like to see AI integration for automation in future releases. Post-automation, I envision a generative AI model. If I could ask the bot questions like the number of invoices or their current status, it should be able to provide answers directly.""Mapping the process steps to an existing R2R process quickly would be a definite step forward."

"I would like more incorporation of AI features to allow for intelligent character recognition.""One of the 2018 projects was built using version 18.2. We then got a report from users that it was not working. Most of the time, it failed on multiple use cases. When we took the process from the owner to repair and troubleshoot, we found that many packages were not being recognized by the new version, which is 2020. So, we had to upgrade to the latest package, then do a repair. It took a good amount of time for us to repair the package. We had to go back to the UAT environment, then do testing and get approval from the UAT. We then had to sign-off and deploy pre-production and post-production Hypercare. So, the automation cycle being repeated by almost 40% is quite costly to the business, but this is rare.""You can't write small snippets of code. If you want to do a single code snippet, this is not available by default.""I would like to see them dive into more industry-specific use cases.""We had some issues with instability for which we were never able to determine the root cause.""While doing web automation, I am facing a selector issue. In the web portal, we need to capture a screen element. For capturing the screen element, when I run the job the next time, it fails because the limit is not recognized. It is very difficult to make the selector stable. It is not easy.""I would like to see more machine learning features and capabilities for more accurate OCR.""I would suggest that UiPath be released for use on other platforms."

  • "The community edition is completely free. Then, people say, "There is nothing to lose, let me try it.""
  • "There are operational benefits in terms of time savings and user satisfaction of not having to do menial, repetitive tasks."

  • "They give it away in the community edition for free, so I use it at home."
