Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"I've found the solution to be very scalable.""It allows us to build dashboards for individual parts of the business. Our team members appreciate that they can just get a view of their part of the world without having to worry about anyone else's.""The correlation feature is the most used feature. It allows you to correlate events from different sources and have more meaningful events.""Flexible dashboard with the availability of widgets.""It's a very good product overall.""OpsBridge has good event correlation facilities and root-cause identification algorithms.""You can create an application topology that shows relationships between different components.""We haven't faced any stability issues. There hasn't been any crashes or glitches."

"PagerDuty let us set up rosters based on our shifts. We could assign a hierarchy for how the calls should be escalated and the number of times the call will be transferred between people before it is answered. It makes it easy to access an agent via mobile phone.""The most valuable features of PagerDuty are customization, access, policies, and different rules regarding the path of escalation. Additionally, it's easy to use and create overrides. For example, if you all are on a call for one week each, but somebody wants to go on PTO, the team needs to swap shifts in PagerDuty. This is easy to do by creating overrides to switch up the set schedules. It's very user-friendly in that aspect. It works well for monitoring and alerting.""Notification is the most valuable feature.""It reduces the amount of white noise. If something comes through, then it will alert somebody. However, if it's a bit of white noise that comes through at night, then it gets dealt with the next day. Everything is visible to everybody. It's not just a single person getting an SMS, then going, "Oh, I'm not going to worry about that." The visibility to everybody on the team is one of the great things about it because it reduces the white noise.""The SMS pages and the mobile application are pretty much the top two features.""The most valuable feature of PagerDuty is its integration with other tools, such as Amazon AWS, to receive notifications or create automatic instances.""The product has valuable on-call scheduling, escalation, and incident workflow management features.""PagerDuty is very stable and very reliable."

Cons
"In a future release, we would like an improved upgrade process. When you upgrade it now, it first uninstalls everything and then reinstalls all the packages, which means any customization that you've done in the directories on the surface disappears.""What needs improvement in Micro Focus Operations Bridge is its resource heaviness because you need many resources to deploy and support it. It's a good solution for larger organizations, but for small businesses, not so much.""Our issues are largely support related due to where we are and the knowledge base that we have here. This issue relates both HPE in general and to the technical products.""The pricing could be improved.""The solution is overall "heavy", requiring multiple servers, even without HA.""I know that in the next version, X1005, they're moving to more graphical overviews, which should help our senior managers.""The deployment of agents on new CI should be improved. There should be some kind of automation to directly deploy them from the console. It can maybe have some more AI functions because most of the other tools are going in that direction.""The price is quite expensive, and because of this, we may try another solution."

More OpenText Operations Bridge Cons →

"It cannot be integrated with our upgraded Jira system.""I would like to see more content in the notification messages; although, that might be a configuration on our end.""The On-Call Teams feature could be better in terms of levels of conditions related to which team or member should get the responsibility of handling a matter or incident.""It’s quite hard to reach the support team.""The biggest area for improvement with PagerDuty is noise suppression. There have been a handful of incidents through our use of PagerDuty over the years where one incident may lead to 30 to 50 pages because you're monitoring all these different things, and each thing is an individual page. There should be the ability to set up paging tiers and group correlations between some of the different pages. That is something that would be really valuable. We should be able to say this one page may have a group or a tree of effective other pages that may tier off of it. So, if you see those pages independently, go ahead and alarm, but if you see this plus that, don't do that.""The user interface could be more intuitive.""PagerDuty's webhooks need some improvement.""This solution works best in conjunction with a proper logging system, which can be an additional cost to organizations."
