We performed a comparison between Nutanix AHV Virtualization and Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure (NCI) based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out what your peers are saying about Proxmox, VMware, Microsoft and others in Server Virtualization Software."Using AHV, we have a built-in VR solution. It operates using a reduplication-based unique package transfer process."
"It's user-friendly."
"The most valuable feature of Nutanix AHV is that it can be managed through Hyper-V, which is Microsoft's hypervisor, VMware, and Citrix XenServer."
"For our markets here in Morocco, we are mainly working with server virtualization, and the most valuable feature is the software-defined storage and hyper-converged infrastructure."
"The most valuable aspect of this solution is that you don't need to pay for it, it's free, as opposed to paying for a VMware license."
"The solution is user-friendly and provides good virtual machine backups. The user interface gets updated when there is a new release."
"Integration is the most valuable feature of the product."
"The solution scales very well."
"It gives us a single dashboard to control multiple sites and multiple zones. It helps to do things on a single platform and data sharing is quite easy. The network and the security are easy to manage."
"It is a good solution and it is easy to work on their platform."
"It has been stable so far."
"It is all-in-one. The compute processing, storage, and network altogether make it convenient. We don't have to have different modules for expansion."
"Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure has a simple, user-friendly GUI, and I also like the remote recovery capabilities. It provides a single platform for managing databases."
"The product is easy to manage."
"It offers very useful data protection."
"Acropolis has a great interface and lots of management features packaged with it at an affordable price."
"I haven't come across any limitations. Nutanix doesn't support externally attached storage through Fibre Channel. However, Nutanix doesn't support Fibre Channel connectivity. This, in my opinion, is a weakness of Nutanix. For instance, it does not support Cyber Talent. To clarify, you cannot connect external Fibre Channel storage or NAS storage resources with Nutanix. However, VMware vSAN supports such solutions."
"The solution can be pricey."
"There is no web interface for AHV."
"Honestly, there's a lot to work on the product, especially for someone like me who has worked on VMware. VMware offers a significant level of customization when configuring virtual machines, and that level of detail is not as pronounced on Nutanix AHV Virtualization."
"There are some issues with the interface and integration."
"The initial installation is complex. It took approximately four days."
"Nutanix misses alerts sometimes."
"There are times when consultants, construction, or building firms need to use Beam but it can be difficult."
"There should be a little more access to Nutanix files."
"Nutanix Acropolis AOS could improve by adding some NAS features, similar to the ones that are available in the NetApp solution."
"As Nutanix Acropolis AOS is on the expensive side, one of its areas for improvement is the price. It would also be better if it can be integrated with other cloud providers, because currently, it's only for private cloud deployment."
"Pricing and varieties of options could be better."
"To have internal stability, we needed to network the solution ourselves. Performance depends on the application. Performance could be the lack of IOPS, memory and CPU and configuration issues."
"There could be better support for high power ESX and other cross platform applications."
"Limits on increasing space with the inability to have or attach external storage."
"The new features are not free. You need to pay for each feature."
