We performed a comparison between Tanium and Trellix Endpoint Security based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Endpoint Protection Platform (EPP) solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."Fortinet FortiEDR's scalability is quite good, and you can add licenses to the solution."
"The main thing is that I feel safe. Because the processes that have been used to get a handle on the attackers are much better than other competitors"
"The price is low and quite competitive with others."
"Forensics is a valuable feature of Fortinet FortiEDR."
"The product's initial setup phase is very easy."
"The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration."
"Fortinet has helped free up around 20 percent of our staff's time to help us out."
"Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance."
"Threat hunting is a very good feature on Tanium. We have just started using it and have not used it extensively."
"Tanium has made the process of detecting threats more proactive with its detection. So, the process is easier and more efficient."
"Tanium's most valuable features are patch management, inventory, and distribution software."
"The most valuable features of this solution are the consolidation of all historical data on device endpoints, security drivers, firmware, and Software version gaps."
"The security features are very valuable."
"I like the tool's incident response and security patching."
"For incident response tasks, all these tasks can get done in minutes with minimal disruption to the end-user."
"The product is granular and can build complex roles compared to other EDR vendors."
"The most valuable features are the prevention layer that detects the signature value and prevents threats in the network."
"What I like best is the integrated end-to-end security that works with the security information and events manager."
"We really like the dashboard from Trellix and we've found that it's pretty informative."
"Trellix Endpoint Security offers robust access protection, addressing major concerns in prevention. It provides both application control and user access control within its access protection features."
"Communication with all Mcafee products (also 3rd parties) by DXL infrastructure."
"It's easy to use."
"We like the management of the ePO, and we like the management console."
"Some of McAfee Endpoint Security's main features are it has benefits over normal conventional antivirus solutions because it works much faster."
"The amount of usage, the number of details we get, or the number of options that can be tweaked is limited in comparison to that with other EDR solutions"
"There's room for improvement in the quick response time and technical support for integration issues, especially when dealing with multiple vendors."
"I would like the solution to extend beyond endpoint protection and include other attack surfaces such as other network components."
"Once, we had an event that was locked and blocked, but information about it came to us two or three days later."
"Everything with Fortinet having to do with their cloud services. They need to invest more in their internal infrastructure that they are running in the cloud. One of the things I find with their cloud environment compared to others' is that they go cheap on the equipment. So it causes some performance degradation."
"The security should be strong for the cloud. Some applications are on-prem and some are on the cloud. Fortinet should also have strong security for the cloud. There should be more security for the cloud."
"Making the portal mobile friendly would be helpful when I am out of office."
"ZTNA can improve latency."
"Most of the time, agent-relative issues have to be more equipped with self-healing features. At times, the agent is there, but for some reason, it doesn't report a status. It gives certain problems that are obviously agent-based."
"The main issues are the network connection because different customers have issues with their networks. It's difficult implementing this type of solution because the network is the main feature in the architecture for these types of solutions. Tanium could improve by creating some network optimization."
"It is not really additional functions, or the features that are needed, rather the complexity would be reduced based on the number of modules required to put together a comprehensive operational security and risk compliance model."
"The solution needs to improve the reporting and tracking capabilities."
"We had some issues with the solution's OS upgrade."
"The most painful thing is the interface. It's a bit unclear sometimes."
"Any movement into a SaaS solution has challenges since the processes and data flows are not well defined. Hence, you need to build it at the same time."
"The reporting could be improved."
"The solution needs to offer better local technical support."
"The local technical support could be better."
"An area in need of improvement involves the overview, which usually does not enable one to get the value in reports."
"It can be quite complicated to learn McAfee Endpoint Security and to feel comfortable with the environment."
"It didn't work well for some of the use cases. We have different use cases for each entity. Their support is also not good and needs improvement."
"Trying to move away from the signature model for antivirus and malware blocking is something that would be nice. Instead of having to update every day, which is signature-based, moving to more of a kernel or architecture-based model would probably be beneficial."
"If there's a possibility for remote assistance or investigation support in the future, it would be beneficial. Currently, we use another remote software for such purposes. If this feature could be included in the next version, that would be an improvement. The feature is called Remote Administration. I'm somewhat satisfied, but there's an issue I recently encountered. When attempting to scan a suspected host machine, Symantec Endpoint Security did not provide any alerts. However, when we installed Malwarebytes and ran a scan, it detected a threat that wasn't identified by Symantec. We raised this concern with the team for resolution, and the investigation is still ongoing."
"We would like to see all the features available on cloud."
