We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Valuable features include real-time modeling and design work, the ability to perform workshops with clients in real-time with the tool, and getting instant output.""For me the most valuable feature is that it's one depository for our bank. So it's not like everybody has their critical processes on SharePoint or on their desktops. Everything is centrally located. It's very intuitive, easy to use. The support that I get from IBM is always great.""It has a built-in capability to capture process owners and managers against processes along with other process governance roles.""The solution is easy to operate. Also, there is an automatic mode to make the business flow. You don't have to put any lines or arrows in a decision point in IBM Blueworks Live; it's very automatic.""The ease of documenting and digitizing the processes was valuable to us.""The reporting that we can generate from IBM Blueworks Live has been interesting. We found the KPIs, risks, process modeling, format, and colors, to be very good. We use the EY template and it is interesting to generate reporting in this format.""The solution is stable. All the refreshes run very well.""The business process discovery is excellent. The diagram or blueprinting functionality of the solution are very good. It's quite easy. You can link the sub-processes and get a big overview of the whole process then."

"Web diagramming and RACI have helped expedite the process, capture, and ownership initiatives of our organization.""The solution's technical support is of good quality since they offer fast and seamless services.""Finding the right symbol and creating links, horizontal and vertical are the features I use.""It has simplified compliance with regulations and company standards.""We found the technical support to be helpful.""This product fulfills ninety percent of our needs, and we're happy as users of it.""Another good feature is that the numbering of the shapes in iGrafx is much easier and more convenient, in comparison to what is found in Visio. So far I haven't found anything similar to what I have with iGrafx, in that regard.""iGrafx gives you the capability of documenting your process and then the ability to use it as a tool for analysis to identify the loopholes and shortcomings of your process."

Cons
"The initial setup is neither straightforward nor complex however you do need to know what you are doing.""The font size is really, really small and it's really not useful to print out process models because you cannot read what's written in different boxes. This makes it necessary for people to have access to the tool. We view licenses to see how the printing or output is. It's not very good.""There should be an option to import from and export to Microsoft Visio. Being able to move files back and forth between Blueworks Live and Visio would be good.""Sometimes, the tool is automatic, which can complicate it, but once you're accustomed to manipulating it, you can use it very effectively.""IBM Blueworks is BPMN 2.0 compliant, but it does not adapt to the overarching BPMN 2.0 concepts.""The user interface is quite easy at first but process analysts soon run into roadblocks of limited functionality, which is disappointing.""The solution is a very basic discovery product so it doesn't have that much modeling capability. This can be improved.""I would like to see integration with ERP systems. This would help us to simulate the process and see where the problems are. Though IBM Blueworks Live is a good tool for documenting, it is not good for simulating."

"With iGrafx, the implementation and the licensing were pretty complex.""It can be more user-friendly.""It would be nice to have a Spanish user interface available to us.""The look and feel, along with the ease of use of the solution's web modeling version, is an area with certain shortcomings.""Dragging and dropping shapes is not as user-friendly as in Visio. In Visio, it's very easy to work with shapes and in very few minutes you can plot a whole, multi swim-lane, cross-functional process.""The solution could benefit from improvements to its interface. More specifically, when compared to other tools, the process modeling features lack symbols or object types that are used to represent the information or data within the process.""I would love to see a template and shapes for customer journey mapping.""The price could be more competitive."
