We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The console is friendly and it supports Mac.""We like that content-aware and device controls can easily be managed. They're not complicated. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to understand them.""The versatility regarding the exit point Endpoint Protector supports in making sure that important data doesn't leave our organization is vital for us. In the industry that we're in, data breaches are a significant concern. While our staff is contractually required to maintain confidentiality and they're all very aware that they shouldn't try and transfer company data of different classifications elsewhere to non-company devices, there's a risk.""The software is easy to use and the dashboard is intuitive.""There are a lot of features, but the main feature is that I can use a device serial number to unlock any particular machine or for all machines. If I have a phone, like a Samsung phone, I can whitelist that specific phone for full access wherever it is plugged into any of our devices. This is the same with a USB, because most USBs come in bulk and have the same serial number. I can then whitelist that particular USB to be read-write with full access.""Compared to a lot of the USB management systems out there, Endpoint Protector is the only one that comes with true USB management and the DLP side of it. I'm pretty impressed because I've used several solutions with DLP and USB management, and I've never seen granularity like this solution has.""The most valuable feature is device control.""The most valuable features are Device Control, Content-Aware Protection, Enforced Encryption, and eDiscovery."

"We find the malware scanning and intrusion detection most valuable for our server management requirements. We can find out who is on our servers and what they have done.""The basic setup, like configuring servers or deploying the SaaS platform and agent implementation, is straightforward.""I'm not an administrator of Trend Micro Integrated Data Loss Prevention, but an end-user, and what I like about it is that it can detect events that could cause data loss. It's a good solution.""We find the initial setup to be very easy.""The most values feature of this solution are the micro DLP features.""We are able to check the log and keep records.""The solution's initial setup process was straightforward.""The interface and dashboard are okay."

Cons
"If CoSoSys comes up with a suite of Host DLP, along with Network DLP and SaaS DLP, it will cover all of the aspects of a DLP solution.""I would rate the role-based access features for administrators a six out of ten. There's work to be done on the granularity of roles that can be assigned to an administrator but there is role-based administrator access present. That's why it's not a zero rating.""In Linux a user can remove a getent anytime. There is no control there on the file structure in Linux. So if this solution could give us information on what users removed in the dashboard, it would help us.""There are times when the server needs to be updated, and it would help if I got a notification for when the newest version comes out, because at the moment, I'm going in every now and then and checking. Sometimes it comes out and I didn't know it had come out.""One of the areas where there is room for improvement is support. It takes time for them to respond. They need to respond on time. Instead of sending an email, I think it would be very helpful to say, 'Let's set up a WebEx to see what's really going on,' instead of the back and forth of email.""Endpoint Protector would be improved with more DLP templates.""This product provides zero-day protection for macOS, although I'm currently dealing with an issue on the most recent rollout of the Endpoint client that doesn't seem to be fully functioning.""I have faced issues which shouldn't be related to this product. This product is purely a DLP, so it should only protect my data. I don't know what is happening with their agent or what is happening with the software, but it messes up my endpoint. For example, people are facing bandwidth issues. Before I deployed this on an endpoint, people were getting internet speeds of 40 or 50 Mbps. After deploying it, that would come down to 10 Mbps. And if I uninstalled the agent, it would go back to 50 Mbps."

"It's hard for me to answer any questions about missing features. It's the outside companies who support us that manage this DLP solution at this moment.""I would like to provide improved network direction in order to regulate all of the user agents. We only use Trend Micro Data Loss Prevention to manage various threats and malicious user agents currently.""Within the solution, many of the functions do not perform as intended...It is not a stable solution...It is not a scalable solution.""Most of the functions don't work in the way that they are supposed to.""Trend Micro could be priced better, currently, it's a bit high. And there needs to be better after the sale, technical support.""The platform's support structure for government-specific domain requirements could be improved.""Having more features apart from what the product was designed for is what I'd like to see in its next release.""In Trend Micro Integrated Data Loss Prevention, there is a need to improve the plug-in manager, as it is an area with shortcomings."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "This is a budget-friendly solution that covers all the aspects of host-level DLP."
  • "The price of Endpoint Protector by CoSoSys is more or less the same as other competing solutions."
  • "It has a fair price. They just changed recently from perpetual licensing. When I bought it, I bought it on perpetual license, then they changed the whole company policy to go to subscription. It was a bit of a shock to us because we haven't upgraded it that many times. However, after speaking to CoSoSys directly, they gave us a very good renewal price."
  • "I don't have any issue with the licensing and pricing. I would love for it to be cheaper, but at the same time I'm getting a lot from it."
  • "[The pricing] is reasonable compared to what's out there."
  • "Pricing is quite reasonable. For smaller organizations, it lets them get into the product domain, whereas a lot of vendors won't even talk to them. CoSoSys is just about at that sweet spot of being serious enough that you have to budget for it, but at the same time, affordable enough that the value is well worth it."
  • "The minimum number of licenses they sell is 50 or 150 users."
  • "For what it's doing, the cost is somewhat high for us, but it's the cost of doing business with the clients that we have."

  • "I rate the tool's pricing a three out of ten."
  • "The product is worth the money you pay for it. It is not an expensive solution."
  • "It's not too expensive, especially when compared to SecureTech, and Forcepoint. It's actually cheaper. A license costs about INR 4,000 to INR 5,000, roughly $60 per license per year. In comparison, Forcepoint licenses are around $90 to $95."

Now more than ever, your data is on the move—whether it’s on a laptop, flash drive, or moving across physical, virtual, and cloud infrastructures. At any point along the way, your financial data, customer information, intellectual property, or trade secrets could be lost or stolen. Securing this data is further complicated by several growing risk factors:

Rapidly evolving compliance regulations and mandates, including GDPR
    Continued growth of workforce mobility
Employees using their own mobile devices and consumer apps for work
Rising frequency of advanced persistent threats (APTs) and data breach incidents

To avoid the embarrassment, reputation damage, regulatory fines, and revenue loss, today’s enterprise must be able to identify, track, and secure all confidential data from multiple points within the organisation and in the cloud without impacting employee productivity and performance. In the past, many organisations tried traditional data loss prevention (DLP) solutions but found they were too intrusive, too complex to manage, and too costly to acquire, deploy, and maintain.
